BigBoy
Looks like games are coming for the Zune after all! Microsoft just announed XNA Studio developers will be able to use the Zune as a multiplayer wireless mobile gaming platform! Details are sparse at this point, but it looks like it's going to be second gen Zunes only, since it was specifically mentioned that it'd take advantage of the touchpad controls. We'll let you know more as we get it. Source. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/621070-microsoft-announces-games-for-zune-via-xna-studio/ Share on other sites
BigBoy
More details surface... for example: Q: Will this feature only work on newer Zune devices?A: XNA Game Studio 3.0 currently will support Zune 4/8, Zune 30, and Zune 80 devices. More here on XNA forum... DigitalE
Interesting. I'm glad I didn't sell my Zune :) My thoughts on this - Q: Are there any limitations on how I can use the music that’s stored on the ZuneA: Any DRM licensed music cannot be played; otherwise you have full access to the music and pictures stored on the Zune. Audiosurf, anyone? Q: Do I need an XNA Creators Club subscription to deploy the game?A: No subscription is required to deploy the Zune game from your PC. At least we won't have to pay $100 a year to play Zune games! Q: Can I transmit the game to another Zune device wirelessly?A: No, you must deploy the game to your Zune through your device connection on your PC, using XNA Game Studio 3.0 to deploy. So do we have to have access to a computer to play Zune games? Or can the game be "deployed" and then started anywhere, any time? Overall, it sounds nice :) Edited February 20, 2008 by DigitalE Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/621070-microsoft-announces-games-for-zune-via-xna-studio/#findComment-589221244 Share on other sites

MightyJordan
Does the XNA Studio support Achievements? I sure hope so! It might happen, because Microsoft is doing Live Anywhere, aren't they? This could be part of it!
