I'm honestly shocked they released Kennedy this quickly. According to the reports the wrist injury wasn't bad and he wouldn't miss any time, so why release him? I think there's something else here going on, possibly a new wellness policy violation or something incoming and they wanted to avoid the media attention or something?

Either way, in 90 days, he'll be in TNA. And there he can roid up all he wants, which will probably be GOOD for him, since he'll be able to avoid injuries a bit more, and obviously heal up much faster lol

Shame though, I was looking forward to his main event push (finally) in WWE. Guess not though.

That really sucks to see Mr Kennedy being released so soon after he came back. to be honest the more I think about it the more I feel that WWE is dying and TNA is on the rise. Let's face it, it's generally the same old crap on WWE for the last year: Randy Orton beating people up to the point that they can't wrestle for some time. Vicky Guerrero being the WWE version of Rita Repulsa in Raw, and of course Edge being champion. It's really the same tune over the past year.

The early word on why Mr. Kennedy received his surprising release from World Wrestling Entertainment yesterday was that in addition to injuring himself yet again, his nearly injuring Randy Orton was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Kennedy returned to RAW this past Monday night after spending ten months on the shelf rehabbing a badly injured shoulder. In his first match back, during a spot in the main event with Randy Orton, Kennedy injured his wrist.

However the more important issue in the eyes of WWE management was that Orton nearly re-injured his bad shoulder as a result of an errant move on the part of Kennedy.

According to sources, Orton and Kennedy had words backstage after the show, although it was said it wasn't heated. Apparently Orton very calmly dressed Kennedy down, explaining he has to be more careful so he doesn't injure anyone else in the ring.

WWE.com confirmed the release of Mr. Kennedy on the website yesterday in their "Industry News" tab.

From Wrestlezone.com

Randy Orton lost his temper during an appearance on the Televisa sports show in Mexico City this past weekend.

The program's host was conducting an interview with Orton in English, with Spanish subtitles, and all was going well until he brought up the WWE Champion's past history of injuries and called him fragile. While the host was simply joking, Orton took great offense to his remark.

He threw off the host's glasses, stared him down and said in a bullying tone: "Listen, you wanna talk s**t to me on your own show here and make you look cool here. You wanna look cool? Say it to my face. Why you turning red? I'm serious. I'm serious. I'm serio... no look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me! (raises voice) LOOK AT ME! Now say it again! Say it again! I dare you to say it again! CALL ME FRAGILE! I will headbutt your teeth through your skull! Do you hear me?"

The host took a few steps back and said, "That's not polite." Orton responded, "Say something funny again, boy. Say something funny." He then said "I'm done" and stormed off the set. (WA)

OMG

Goes to show what I've said from day 1 - Orton is an immature little prick, who really isn't ready yet to be the face of WWE. He overreacts and has a violent temperament (wonder why that could be...).

He was known to be full of himself in the locker room, and little has changed.

Yeah this is what I hate about Randy plus he trashed a hotel room when he was in Europe...this guy needs to go away right now!

The WWE have put out a release saying that the whole incident was a work...

Which to me, means it wasn't. They never admit when a work is a work, what would be the point of it?

Again the WWE let's Orton run around like a kid and get away with it...

*sigh* this is another reason why WWE sucks right now.

Orton has a GREAT history of being a good "chasing" heel, he can build heat like NO ONE else... but the second he gets put at the focus of a show, given the title, he loses it. Seriously, who called the "street fight" with Flair? I'm guessing it was Orton's idea, considering it's happened several times before and built heat then so why not try it again when his heat's lagging? *groan* I'm glad HHH isn't the champion right now, but I sure don't want Orton to have it anymore... there are plently of other great heels deserving their try at holding title heat.

I edited my original post and included the matches and winners.

The fans on WWE Universe live chat are highly upset at Punk right now, but I look for Punk to give Jeff a shot as soon as he is ready.

Isn't Jeff leaving soon, the talk amongst the insiders was Jeff was going to take a few months out.

Some breaking news coming out of Extreme Rules:

PWInsider.com has confirmed that Batista has suffered a torn bicep and is scheduled to have surgery this coming Tuesday. Look for him to vacate the title on Raw.

Source: http://www.pwinsider.com/

Poor Batista, he can't catch a break. But like Sylvester Stallone once said, when you are so pumped up, your muscles lose their flexibility and thus you get injured quite easily.

Orton hopefully won't get it back.. there's other ways they can work this that DON'T involve reversal. Hell, Vicky declaring herself champion would be better then them giving Orton the title back...

. as for the CM Punk thing, it sounds like a working angle to get Hardy out of the picture for a while... it'll be relatively easy to move Edge over to a matchup with Punk while bringing Jeff back at main-event level... if they brought jeff back after NOT giving him the strap (even in a token gesture) he'd feel out of place if he's gone for long... now not so much.

Batista had been injured for 3 weeks. I have a feeling that the only reason he fought through it and came out on top at Extreme Rules was to be able to end his career as WWE Champion. Look for him to drop the title tonight at the start of RAW.

In other news, Umaga has been released by WWE.

    • An actual cosmic "Eye of Sauron" had been looking straight at us all along by Sayan Sen Image by Kovin P. Vasquez via Pexels | Not representative An international team of researchers has solved a long-standing mystery surrounding a distant blazar known as PKS 1424+240, helping explain why it produces some of the brightest high-energy gamma rays and cosmic neutrinos ever observed despite appearing to have a relatively slow-moving jet. The findings were published on June 6 in Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters. The study addresses a broader challenge in astrophysics: understanding how extreme cosmic objects accelerate particles to very high energies and produce very high-energy (VHE) photons and neutrinos. PKS 1424+240 is located billions of light-years from Earth. It has attracted attention for years because it is both a powerful source of VHE gamma rays and the brightest known neutrino-emitting blazar in the sky, according to observations by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. It is also associated with one of the strongest peaks in IceCube's nine-year neutrino sky map A blazar is a type of active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole that pulls in surrounding matter and launches jets of plasma moving close to the speed of light. What makes blazars unique is their orientation. One of their jets points almost directly toward Earth, making them appear exceptionally bright across the electromagnetic spectrum and allowing scientists to study some of the most extreme physical processes in the Universe. The scientists exclaimed it's like the 'Eye of Sauron' in deep space. Usually, the brightest gamma-ray-emitting blazars are expected to have jets that appear to move very quickly. However, radio observations of PKS 1424+240 suggested that its jet was moving much more slowly, creating a contradiction that became part of a long-running problem known as the "Doppler factor crisis." To investigate, researchers analyzed 15 years of observations from the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA), a network of 10 radio antennas spread across the continental United States, Hawaii and St. Croix. Using a technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), astronomers combine signals from widely separated radio telescopes to create a virtual Earth-sized telescope capable of revealing extremely fine details. The team combined 42 polarization-sensitive radio images collected between 2009 and 2025, creating a much deeper and more detailed view of the jet than had previously been possible. The observations were carried out as part of MOJAVE (Monitoring Of Jets in Active galactic nuclei with VLBA Experiments), a long-running program that studies the brightness, polarization and magnetic field structures of jets produced by active galaxies. The project aims to better understand how activity near supermassive black holes is linked to high-energy radiation and neutrino emission. “When we reconstructed the image, it looked absolutely stunning,” said Yuri Kovalev, lead author of the study and Principal Investigator of the European Research Council-funded MuSES project at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “We have never seen anything quite like it — a near-perfect toroidal magnetic field with a jet, pointing straight at us.” The image revealed an unusual geometry. The researchers found that Earth lies almost directly in line with the jet, with a viewing angle of less than 0.6 degrees. In simple terms, astronomers are looking almost straight down the jet. This turned out to be the key to the mystery. Because the jet is aimed almost directly at Earth, a relativistic effect called Doppler boosting dramatically increases its apparent brightness. The study found that this effect boosts the emission by a factor of about 30 while also making the jet appear slower than it actually is. “This alignment causes a boost in brightness by a factor of 30 or more,” said Jack Livingston, a co-author at the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy. “At the same time, the jet appears to move slowly due to projection effects — a classic optical illusion.” The nearly head-on view also gave scientists a rare look at the jet's magnetic field. Using polarized radio signals, they detected a clear toroidal, or doughnut-shaped, magnetic field component. The observations suggest the jet carries an electric current and that its magnetic field helps launch, shape and stabilize the flow of plasma. Researchers believe this magnetic structure may also play a key role in accelerating particles to energies high enough to produce both gamma rays and neutrinos. “Solving this puzzle confirms that active galactic nuclei with supermassive black holes are not only powerful accelerators of electrons, but also of protons — the origin of the observed high-energy neutrinos,” Kovalev said. The research was conducted under the MuSES (Multi-messenger Studies of Energetic Sources) project, which investigates how active galactic nuclei accelerate particles and generate different cosmic signals, including light and neutrinos. Scientists say understanding how protons are accelerated and linked to neutrino production remains one of the major unanswered questions in astrophysics. The findings help explain why some blazars can appear to have slow jets while still producing extremely bright high-energy emissions. More broadly, the study strengthens the link between relativistic jets, magnetic fields, gamma rays and high-energy neutrinos. Researchers say the results provide new clues about how some of the Universe's most powerful natural particle accelerators work and offer important insights for multimessenger astronomy, which combines different types of cosmic signals to study extreme events in space.
