When Floyd Mayweather hits the ring this Saturday night against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he'll be joined by The Game himself, HHH. Mayweather said Triple H was "one of the greatest guys in the world" and that it'd be an honor to have him by his side." Triple H responded by saying, "It is an honor to walk the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world back into the ring. Floyd 'Money' Mayweather has shown WWE tremendous support and it is my pleasure to return the favor this Saturday by standing at his side as he defeats Marquez in what I am sure will be boxing's fight of the year."

What is the relevance of having Triple H on his side?

September 18, 2009 - We learned last Monday that Cedric the Entertainer was set to host this upcoming Monday's RAW, but now we know who'll be hosting the show the following week. It's none other than the Reverend Al Sharpton!

We're used to certain odd-fellows showing up on RAW these days, but what could Al Sharpton possibly have to promote? Why, it's "Achievement Gap" Tour - whic will feature Sharpton hitting the road with, of all people, Former House Secretary Newt Gingrich, and Education Secretary Arne Duncan. With stops in Philly, New Orleans, Baltimore and Atlanta, Sharpton and Gingrich will be raising awareness for the "achievement gap" currently facing public schools in the U.S. and highlighting the efforts to reform public education.

Could there even be a remote possibility of seeing Gingrich on RAW? I smell new Tag Team Champions.

W T F WWE. Seriously. I don't want to see Sharpton host RAW. I can pretty much say without worry he isn't a wrestling fan. And even if he is, god he's annoying. I'd rather have Al Roker host RAW! (not really, he's so skinny now it scares me)

Saturday, 10:10 p.m. ET -- And in Mayweather's corner ?

Triple H will be walking Floyd Mayweather to the ring tonight; yesterday, he told me how the two got to know each other during Mayweather's appearance on WrestleMania nearly years two ago.

"When Floyd came to wrestle for us, Vince [McMahon] asked me to train him," he said. "I met with Floyd a bunch of times and we'd get together in the ring, and I taught him a bunch of things and we became friends. Just recently he hosted the show for us, and that night he asked me if I would be interested in walking to the ring with him.

"I was pleasantly surprised; about five minutes after meeting Floyd I thought, 'This is going to work out great,' because the first thing he said to me is, 'I want this to be awesome. I want to do everything I can to make it the best on the show.' And when I started to ask him about things, no matter what it was, he said, 'I want to do that. Show me how to do that exactly.' He would practice until he got it right.

"He was just so dedicated. I was really impressed with him. We have a lot of celebrities come on the show and we may have them do one thing, come in and whack a guy or something. Floyd had to go out there with a 500-pound guy for 12, 15 minutes, and perform, do something he hadn't done before, and he knocked it out of the park.

"Ninety-nine percent of the people I know who have a God-given gift to do things easily are lazy. They don't apply themselves to that gift, they never reach the heights they could. Floyd is the exact opposite. He has the ability to be incredibly fast, to be agile, to be light on his feet, to be an incredible boxer, but he doesn't rely on that. He trains like nobody else, he studies like nobody else. He's the best at what he does."

-- Kieran Mulvaney

he's just arrived as wel:rofl:l:

Yeah and apparently, Mayweather is thinking about going to WWE fulltime now also. Could be interesting. Like when Ken Shamrock was around, everyone figured he would suck. But he was awesome. (I still wish they would have brought him back)

who is Rev Sharpton? being from UK he is completely unknown to me

he's some civil rights activist and baptist minister

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Sharpton

I think it's a bad choice to have a host that is only known is the United States while the WWE is a wordwide company

yea. stop with the chavo vs. leprechaun crap. we get it, little people getting the better of big people

Yeah people like Actors we all know, but him I have no idea!

I wish WWE would ditch crappy gimmicks!

in other news anyone see AJ Styles won the title at TNA PPV?

yes, i watched the TNA PPV last night and was impressed with the performance of all the talent there

According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (www.F4WOnline.com), WWE Hall Of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart is open to working on-camera as a character in a storyline on WWE television again.

The report claims Hart has had talks with WWE about returning as a weekly character on TV and his interest in a return is partially why WWE went with the screwjob finish in the Undertaker-CM Punk match at the "Breaking Point" pay-per view in Montreal.

Apparently talks began back when Vickie Guerrero left the company, so one would assume if he were to ever agree to a deal, he would be in some kind of non-wrestling role, such as a General Manager.

I found this interesting about why Al Sharpton is hosting Raw on Monday ..

What do the Rev. Al Sharpton, John Cena and Triple H have in common? They'll all be at Times Union Center in Albany for the latest installment of World Wrestling Entertainment's "Monday Night Raw."

Sharpton? That Sharpton? Yes, the one and only minister and politician who has courted controversy over the years will be the guest host for the night's entertainment. Sharpton at the microphone, of course, is nothing new: He spoke at Michael Jackson's memorial service recently and has his own radio show, which can be heard at http://www.sharptontalk.net/.

But wrestling?A publicist for WWE, Kevin Hennessy, says Sharpton's current work on education reform dovetails nicely with WWE's own campaign for youth literacy, Get R.E.A.L. Read at 1,800 libraries nationwide. (The R.E.A.L. stand for Respect, Education, Achievement, Leadership.)

Meanwhile, Sharpton plans on hitting the road on Tuesday, the day after his Albany WWE appearance, with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Education Secretary Arne Duncan on a four-city tour to help raise awareness for the achievement gap facing U.S. schools. The tour will go to Philadelphia, New Orleans, Baltimore and Atlanta to highlight the Obama administration's efforts to reform public education.

What WWE will give Sharpton is a platform from which he can give his message of education reform to the audience in Albany and the more than 5 million viewers who watch "Monday Night Raw" each week (9 p.m., USA Network).

But will he, like previous guest hosts Jeremy Piven, Seth Green and Cedric the Entertainer, don wrestling garb and get in the ring? The WWE publicist couldn't say for sure, emphasizing that what a guest host does depends on what he (and it has been men only so far) is comfortable with.

As for the wrestling, Cena and Triple H are expected to team up against bad guys Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

'Monday Night Raw'

When: 8:15 p.m. Monday

Where: Times Union Center, 51 S. Pearl St., Albany

Tickets: $17-$62

Contact: 487-2000; http://www.timesunioncenter-albany.com

I think it's safe to say that many viewers will be flipping the channel while he is on, I know I will be. I don't watch Raw to see someones political platform

can anyone say bathroom or smoke break?

    • Let's goooooooo! I've been loving the entries so far! I still have to finish Rebirth (things have been busy!)! Excited for this next installment.
    • "Revelation?" I was hoping for this episode to be called "Reunion". Oh, well... In a related note, the Final Fantasy VII compilation has received an EC entry, short for Ever Crisis. For those who don't know, it already had AC, BC, CC, and DC entries, short for Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. I hope it doesn't get an FC entry becaude that would be a freakin' crisis.
    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Resident Evil, Mafia, Like a Dragon, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic concluded its mystery giveaways this week with another double freebie promotion. As a part of this, you can now grab Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest to keep. Meanwhile, Rogue Waters is a roguelike where, as a pirate captain, you command a ship and crew through procedurally generated encounters. The double giveaway is coming to an end on June 11. On the same day, Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks will join in as the next freebie. Another Humble Choice offer was revealed earlier this week, bringing a refreshed eight-game selection to jump into. The June selection is Octopath Traveler 2, The Riftbreaker, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, INDIKA, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Construction Simulator, Hell Clock, and Overlooting to keep as Steam keys. The $15 bundle gives you all eight games from this month's Choice selection. The month-long promotion will come to an end on July 6, giving you ample time to decide on whether you want the titles. The Humble Store also brought in standard gaming collections this week. The IGN Live Bundle kicked things off with games like Control, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blair Witch, Rollerdrome, and The Last Campfire for $10. At the same time, the We Will Always be Here bundle carried in titles like Bad End Theater, Thirsty Suitors, Vampire Therapist, and Tavern Talk for $12.
