Heh, what about when Hogan turned and joined Hall and Nash? My lord I thought the people were going to riot and kill them. You gotta figure Hogan and Bischoff and anyone else who came up with Hogan going heel had to know it was going to upset people (and I mean that literally lol) and had to have big balls to do it.

Like that one match in ECW with I think Foley and Terry Funk when the crowd started throwing in the steel chairs, omgz.

yeah WCW was so passionate then it was unreal but that's why I loved WCW the fact it was like so different to WWE then they brought in Attitude era and we had 2 awesome federations but then WCW got to random and crappy.

wcw had characters for days. la parka, ice train, glacier, just a vast variety. they had the match types and big storylines. they were really a great company. the last time wwe had a vast variety of characters (Savio Vega, 8ball, Godfather) was back when wcw was around

Kronik :D

[...] I don't really see why he'd want Bret's return to fail, as if would be good for the company if it didn't. Unless he hates Bret more than Bret hated Shawn?

That's an excellent point! He's the husband of one of the top directors of the company (if not the future owner); why wouldn't he want the company to do well? That's very selfish of him :/

ro Wrestling Illustrated has named Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXVI "Match of the Decade" in its PWI Decade Awards. Runner-ups include Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21, Hollywood Hogan vs. The Rock at WrestleMania X8, Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XIX, Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania XXV, and Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H vs. Chris Benoit at WrestleMania XX.

I was just watching the Rock/Hogan match again and man, the crowd was immense in that match.

that and the match with Ultimate Warrior when the Warrior kicked out of the big leg!

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson turned down an offer from WWE to host an episode of Raw. Originally, WWE wanted to bring The Rock in to host next week's Raw, which is going head-to-head, for the first time, with UFC. WWE wanted to combat that competition with a strong guest host, however The Rock reportedly turned down the offer as he apparently has no interest in hosting Raw. WWE is still pushing, however, to bring The Rock into the company for a match against John Cena at WrestleMania.

If that's true then it really was not good of Dwayne Johnson to tease us that time about hosting RAW. I hope this is not true; if it is, many of The Rock's fans will lose a lot of faith in him

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he teased that RAW spot. But I knew deep down the Rock would likely never do it. And if he did it would only be to pimp a big movie he was doing. Truth be told unless his Hollywood career dies big time he's never coming back to WWE in any capacity probably.

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
