Tyler Reks released!
I just want to say thank you to WWE, Inc. for allowing me to be part of an incredible entertainment experience. On Monday, I asked for my release and the company was gracious enough to grant my request.

I realized recently that being a Superstar means sacrificing certain things, including time with my family. As a new father, my heart broke every time I had to leave to go on the road. I didn't ever want to miss another moment with my daughter, so I made the decision to be a full time dad and hang up my boots.

I will miss everyone in the locker room tremendously as they have all become a second family to me. I want to thank my coaches and teachers that really helped me along the way: Fit Finlay, Arn Anderson, Edge, Christian, Kane, Jericho, Dr. Tom, Norman Smiley, and Billy Kidman.

I also want to thank my boys. You know who you are. Especially though, a huge thank you to Hawkins. You were like a brother to me the last year and I'll miss you and will always love you bro. I wish you the best and thanks for understanding that I had to go be a dad. When she's older, and able to realize what happened, I know Mia will thank you as well.

Thanks to all the dedicated fans of #ReksAndHawkins and to The #RekkingCrew. I would never have survived without you.

Jesus! :o I can understand why he wanted to leave though. If he never said why he left though, I'd have assumed it was because of this.

Little update on the Divas battle royal botch on RAW: Beth and Kelly weren't even backstage. No idea why Kelly wasn't there, but people have said it's because she's now on a part-time contract with WWE. Beth, on the other hand...

:(

Two Divas-related production botches in the same week? That's it, I'm offering to become a proof-reader for WWE. Then again, I'd probably end up changing the names of some superstars, like Antonio Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Kassius Ohno, etc. :p

JRs got it wrong there. Austin has said numerous times that he can still go. Punk vs Austin at WM30. Book it.

Nope. 1000 was actually 999. They moved it up a week to avoid it being during the Olympics.

Huh, I never knew that. Not even any mention on Wikipedia (there's probably a WWE employee editing it out). But yeah, it's definitely true, going from their 900th episode on August 30th 2010, RAW 1000 was actually July 30th.

Interesting point though; I looked up the number of weeks between RAW's debut on January 11th 1993, and RAW "1000" on July 23rd 2012: 1019 weeks. I never realised RAW missed weeks in the past. Does anyone know when they were?

Comedienne and WWE star Dolph Ziggler's ex-girlfriend Amy Schumer appeared on Howard Stern today and opened up about her relationship with Mr. Money in the Bank.

When the topic of sex came up, Schumer admitted that she had to break up with Ziggler because the sex was "too athletic," and he would throw her around as if they were wrestling.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
