Absolutely creasing at the fat angry CM Punk fan - Genius!!

I've just spotted an even more ridiculous one... http://www.manolith.com/2013/01/30/man-shot-in-the-eye-says-the-worst-part-of-his-week-was-wwe-royal-rumble-outcome-video/

To sum it up: a 77 year old liquor store said Rock beating Punk was "the worst thing that has happened to me all week", in the same week that he also got shot in the eye during a robbery, and fell in critical condition.

Earlier today a story came out about The Undertaker being undecided at this moment about working WrestleMania this year. Several people close to The Undertaker have said that they have been given a different version of that story. It's being said that the hold up here is the result of the match. When Taker said he wanted to work with Punk at WM he told WWE officials he wants The Streak to end and to retire, and Punk is his personal choice to pull it off. Higher up officials in WWE have been trying to convince Taker to pull back on that, as they are against the idea of Punk ending it. As of now the two sides have yet to reach an agreement, and both seem to remain very stern in their views.

if Taker wants to retire, then for love of god let him choose how he wants to go out. If he wants the streak to be broken by Punk, then so be it. Taker has been around way to long to have people dictate to him how his match is going to go.

AMEN!

Agree 110%. The perfect version would have been if Punk went into that match as the champion: "Respect (and Title) vs. Streak". It would be the ultimate seal of approval for CM Punk.

If taker wanted punk to take away the streak so he can retire it would have been so much better to have a belt vs streak match. No interference from anyone just a 1 on 1.

Maybe he's getting it back at EC so he could challenge taker, or taker challenge him

That would be an interesting twist, but I can't see them doing that. They've been going down the predictable route for a while now; it just became most obvious at the Royal Rumble.

I can kind of see where the WWE are coming at with this. Ending the streak would be a huge deal and give that wrestler a massive push. Someone like Punk is already an established main eventer, he doesn't really need it.

That said, Taker is the one person who should be able to decide how he gets booked and they should do whatever he wants.

But then you'd cause a lot more outrage if you gave the honour of ending the streak to a midcarder. It's best if it's ended by an established main eventer, as it propels them into immortality. And CM Punk definitely is a worthy candidate; he's worked his arse off to get where he is now, and after having to give up the title to a part-timer with some movies to plug, the least he deserves is just facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

Maybe they're upset that Taker wants to lose to Punk and not their golden boy... :shifty:

If that's the case, then that's their punishment for taking "Once in a Lifetime" and making it "Twice in a Lifetime". ;)

Punk has the potential to be a wunderkind for WWE. Shifting merch, getting outlets talking that tend to write off WWE. He could be their saving grace when it comes to bringing any sort of legitimacy to the WWE.

But he's not a VKM "product". Vince needs to see beyond his own ass and let taker do what he wants. If he wants Punk to end the streak, then nobody has the right to argue with that. Vince will argue that the streak is just a product that he created. BS - I understand what's real and not, but Taker is the reason for the streak, the guy gave WWE everything!

Heck, it writes itself. Lesnar comes back and F5's VKM. Heyman's focus shifts from CM Punk to Lesnar. CM Punk get's frustrated, including blaming Heyman for Shield involvement costing him his match. Punk whines on about not being respected by Heyman too. Taker comes back and they play the whole "Who's gonna face him this year" thing. Everyone expects Lesnar. Taker cuts an amazing promo about respect - how he earned it rather than just assuming it - Heyman interrupts commenting on how Taker showed no respect at the UFC event a few years back. Taker calls out punk, saying he respects his indie wrestling background, but to get respect in the big leagues you have to beat the big boys. Lesnar interupts and takes out Taker - Punk is ****ed because once again a Heyman stable member has interrupted something that mattered to him. Taker has one of those "decide who I face" segments, still people suspect Lesnar. Taker choses punk and openly admits that should Punk win, then he will have Taker's respect. Match set up. Turns Punk face (where he sold more merch), let's taker retire on his own terms, sets up Punk Lesnar. Nobody looks weak.

Not really. Belt vs Streak you KNOW the outcome. UT would never hold the title. He can't even work a Rock schedule.

Better if the title isn't on the line.

With Cena going over Rock at WM29 already basically known as an outcome, you can't have two matches 100% predictable as the top two on your card.

Maybe they're upset that Taker wants to lose to Punk and not their golden boy... :shifty:

if anyone doesn't need the rub from taking UT's steak, its John Cena.

    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 by Razvan Serea Run programs in a sandbox to prevent malware from making permanent changes to your PC. Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 release notes: Added added DisableCustomTitleOpt=[process,][y|n] to allow [#] sandboxie title markers on custom-titlebar windows (Delphi VCL, Qt, Electron) that were previously skipped to prevent DWM repaint CPU loops #5387 Changed updated bundled ImDisk driver to 3.0.2 #5419 Fixed fix Suppress logs for expected non-user SIDs #5422 SbieSvc.exe: SBIE2218/2219 error when run program as administrator #5417 fixed explorer.exe crashes in Application Compartment when Huorong Security is installed #5423 Download: Sandboxie Plus (64-bit) | 23.5 MB (Open Source) Download: Sandboxie Classic (64-bit) | 3.0 MB Links: Sandboxie Website | GitHub | ARM64 | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
