^^ And that's how she ended up after Best in the World last night. Just watched through it; great PPV debut for Ring of Honor.

I got 4/7 in my predictions, and Elgin's finally the champ! :woot:

Anybody follow Vince Russo on Twitter during RAW last night? I thought he made some interesting comments during the show.

I don't follow him, but I know he appeared on Wrestle Reaction's live show after RAW. I'll post the link when they upload it. Just looking through now and seen a couple of gems.

###### it, I might start following him. :P

Just seen Russo's piece on Slammiversary and TNA in general now. Nailed it...

Every day I have a window when I write, it?s either first thing in the morning, or, last thing at night. I NEVER write between 12pm-12am?-I?m just not in the ?Zone? during that time.

So?-what am I doing writing at 9:21pm on a Tuesday night? Well, whenever there is an ?I TOLD YOU SO? to celebrate?-you do it SOONER rather than LATER.

When I wrote my column last week explaining in detail the ?REAL? issues that TNA Wrestling were faced with, I received a lot of positive feedback . . . along with some negative. The majority surrounding the negative came from those who felt that I was just making ?excuses? for TNA, even though I pointed out how I was a part of the company for over a DECADE, and the issues I were citing were based on personal experience. In other words?-I had been there . . . and done that.

Nobody can even imagine the weight of the load when you are writing and producing MULTIPLE TV SHOWS in just ONE NIGHT. And, it goes way beyond the creative. It affects camera men, the pre-tape crew, the director who has to stay focused for FOUR HOURS, the agents who have to lay out three, sometimes four matches a night, and of course the wrestlers themselves. How good are you going to be if you have to wrestle TWICE in one night, while remembering the verbiage for TWO in-rings and THREE pre-tapes. The WWE doesn?t have that problem. Be it, it?s three hours, every Monday night, but they just have to produce ONE SHOW. And, that ONE SHOW is in a different city every week that has anticipated the WWE coming to their town for MONTHS!!! Not the Jones Family who just got off the ?Harry Potter? ride in 100 degree heat after waiting on line for three hours and are just looking for AIR CONDITIONING THAT?S WORKING even if that means?-IT?S INSIDE A WRESTLING ARENA!!!

Getting back to why I?m now writing this at 9:35pm. I just finished watching ?Slammiversary?. Had to DVR it because Sunday was Father?s Day and my family surprised me by taking me out to a nice dinner. For starters, I can?t sit through ANYTHING for three hours as I?ve already stated here before. I have ADD, OCD, and every other three-letter ailment that makes me an absolute wacko. I can?t sit still for 5 minutes. When I go out to dinner and I?m finished eating before my family?-I give them my credit card and go walk around outside by myself until they?re finished and come out?-that?s the extent of how bad it is. When I was actively in the business I couldn?t talk to a wrestler for more than 10 minutes. Say what you need to say?-because I?VE GOTTA GO. It?s bad?-but, I deal with it.

Tonight?-I watched ?Slammiversary? in its FULL THREE HOUR ENTIRETY?-and I was not bored for a second. Were there tweaks I would have made here and there? Yes?-but, nothing that had a dramatic adverse affect on the overall show. Tonight, through ?Slammiversay?, TNA showed what they could do if they had the LUXURY of taping ONE show in ONE night outside of ORLANDO. This show was not the IMPACT that I watch on Thursday nights! This show was a ?SPECTACLE?. This show was ?IMPORTANT?. Everything that happened on this show ?MEANT SOMETHING?. There is no doubt in my mind, that if things were indeed different for TNA when it came to scheduling?-this is the product we would see on a weekly basis. It?s all about time, execution and DETAILS, and if given a ?workable? schedule in which to produce?the experience and talent is there to deliver.

BUT?-here comes the big BUT?-knowing this?-TNA MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. They can no longer live under the banner that the schedule ?is what it is?, if they want to improve. If it means cutting money from other areas in the company?then CUT THE MONEY. Nothing is as important as what they are putting on that television screen on Thursday nights?-NOTHING. Now, I understand fully that the experiment of taking the show on the road didn?t quite pan out a year ago, but there was a good reason behind that?-three months wasn?t a long enough time for TNA to achieve the results they were looking for. Trust me?-it takes time to grow ratings?at least ONE YEAR of great, consistent programming. Again, I understand that TNA couldn?t afford that one year, however?-in my opinion?-neither can they afford to go back to what they know doesn?t give them the opportunity to reach their FULL potential. Maybe there?s a compromise?somewhere in the middle?-I don?t know, but I DO KNOW that every other possibility is worth looking at?-as I?m sure they?re currently doing.

With the TNA/?Spike? contract up in October, I?m really looking forward to who TNA?s partner is going to be. Whether it?s ?Spike?, or somebody else, I just hope that they aren?t ?satisfied? with a 1.0 rating. I hope that they realize the potential that TNA and IMPACT could have?-if the circumstances were just a bit ?different?. Circumstances that could only be changed through both their investment and commitment.

The truth is?-there really is no telling what the TNA ceiling could be unless the proper production resources were provided. If, for any reason they aren?t?then I guess they?as well as we?will never know.

    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
    • On my music making (non internet) PC Sony Acid Pro 7.0 Adobe Audition 2015 Korg Legacy Collection Windows 7 SP1
    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
