World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) continued to make mainstream media headlines today with the announcement that an upcoming episode of Raw will be guest-hosted by a hugely popular inanimate carbon rod.

 
Despite being completely inert, albeit dangerously radioactive, the rod is expected to inject some much-needed excitement during the interminable, two-and-a-half hour stretch between Raw?s opening segment and main event.
 
The green, foot-long rod first rose to popularity in the 1990s after being named ?Worker of the Week? at a nuclear power plant in Springfield (state unknown).
 
But the rod?s true breakout success came when it saved a crew of astronauts from near-certain death by preventing a shuttle door from opening during re-entry. The rod?s heroism was encapsulated in a Time magazine cover story, ?In Rod We Trust.?
 
The rod?s inability to talk or move of its own volition is not expected to impede its guest-hosting abilities, since such limitations didn?t seem to deter Betty White or Kevin Federline.
 
The majority of wrestling fans are looking forward to the rod?s scheduled interactions with John Cena, because it might give Cena a nasty case of radiation poisoning.

? The average viewer is 41.4 years old, meaning viewership is getting older, not younger.

? The audience is 63 percent male, however Total Divas skews that number, as it would be closer to 68 percent for RAW and SmackDown.

? The viewership is 19 percent under the age of 17, 22 percent between 18 and 34, 22 percent between 35 and 49 and 37 percent over the age of 50.

      Why should simply opening the Action Center ... require any significant amount of CPU cycles? Too many are ignoring the elephant in the room: today's CPUs may have similar clock frequencies to CPUs from a decade ago (~4 to 5 GHz), but they run with far higher performance per clock, even on the smallest E-cores. The Action Center is a static, minor desktop element. It ought to open instantly on any CPU made in the past 2.5 decades at even low clocks. Opening a program? Boost away. Unzipping a file? Boost to your heart's content. Right-clicking the notification area? This should be an ultra-efficient, low-impact event that opens instantly. Compare today's UI elements to Windows 7 UI elements. Today's UI elements hardly do anything more substantial or important or critical, yet now require modern-day processors to jump half a GHz to reduce their latency.

      This is not an option lmao: it is part of the KB5094126 update, pushed to all users. There is no GUI to configure it. Reading the article should be required for commenting.

      Close, but it is for any application starting, not just during boot time. In fact, it probably will not improve boot time at all because during a boot, the CPU is already boosting, so a pre-boost wouldn't change anything. I agree that it isn't exciting (especially considering every other OS already does it), but it is a good thing, even if they are just playing catch up.

      Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
