its ironic in that he finally joined the company, but still doesn't get put over. the wwe,and especially triple h's ego wouldn't allow it. I also thought jbl's commentary was dreadful. he was probably getting fed those lines by vince in the back.

then what was up with the handshake in the end? it made absolutely no sense. there will be no rematch. you don't shake the guy's hand if you were to work a rematch angle.

I highly doubt HHH's ego had anything to do with the outcome (maybe, MAYBE, it had a little to do with the fact that another loss would've make HHH 0-3 at WM). It was the logical way to go, for a few reasons:

- Sting is not here to stay, he's at the end of his career and has absolutely nothing to prove anymore;

- everyone expected him to win, so they did what few expected;

- the handshake was a sign of respect, had nothing to do with rematches or whatever. He did the same thing with Taker at wm 28, and there was no rematch after.

JBL's commentary was exactly what you would expect from him, and that's controversial.

Sting did the right thing by agreeing to loose, in my opinion.

The handshake made zero sense. Unless they address it tonight.

Well if you think about it, nWo on Sting's side made 0 sense too, so... :)

JBL's commentary is the only good part of the current commentary, Maggle!

no no, I usually love jbl's commentary. I get the whole heel commentary thing, but just in that match, I felt the comments were juvenile quality, and he probably was told to say those things.

lol.

and it was great seeing hall repaying the fans that paid for his new hip by taking that bump

didnt sting say the reason he was back had nothing to do with wwe vs wcw. it was about taking down the authority? if the match was booked as that, and the handshake at the end happened, id have no problems with it. but what did we get? nwo vs dx(wcw vs wwe). the whole wwe killed wcw bragging,and that's why I didn't like the finish.

It's a damn shame that the WWE product can't be this good throughout the year. It's almost like they save the good stuff just for WrestleMania and the RAW immediately after because of the crazy crowd!

EDIT: lol, just saw this tweet that pretty much sums it up! :p

Agreed. The line about Starrcade and "we win again" were especially obvious that he was being fed those lines.

Also agree with the handshake thing, that made no sense. When someone cheats to beat you (like hitting you with a sledgeheammer!), i wouldn't be shaking their hand. Probably was off script though. And was that even a no DQ match?

And was that even a no DQ match?

I assumed it was when Lilian Garcia said the only ways to win were pinfall or submission; didn't say it was no-DQ, but it implied that, and I'm pretty sure the commentators said it was when DX came out.
