Its very simple: The most 'memorable' part of his career, he didn't even appear on TV for a year, and when he did he barely said a word or wrestled.

I find it comical when people compared Sting and Undertaker. Undertaker evolved his character. Sting devolved his.

If that is what you take a way from the one of the greatest storyline build ups of the 90s then you truely don't know anything about Sting or WCW and the war with the NWO.

For a lil sting history - he had a great few tag team title runs with Lex Luger, had some very memorable matches with Rick Rude, Cactus Jack, Jake the Snake, Vader.... 4 horsemen... i mean come on those far and away surpass anything HHH has done in the last 20 years.

I watched more WCW than WWF/E during that period. The Sting storyline is where WCW began its downturn. This is fact.

What does HHH have to do with anything? Comparing anyone to anyone doesn't make the other person better. Does it make Cameron better because Eva Marie exists? No, they are both dreadful.

Being a tag team champion doesn't mean anything. (By the way, he only won them once with Luger in WCW). Buff Bagwell and Scotty Riggs also won the WCW Tag Team Titles, are they great now too?

Look at the people you listed as him having great matches with. Some of the best performers around. Its a two way street. You know what makes a great performer? Them taking a BAD performer and dragging them to a good/great match - or the best match of that other person's career.

I dissagree. The black & white Sting was the best thing that happened for him AND WCW at that time, Bischoff's "silent Sting" thing was really good and WCW needed anti-nWo talents to go on with the story. WCW started to go down when the Wolfpack was formed, not because of Sting and his storyline.

I have to agree with the HHH thing. Both of them have their merits and both of them did a lot for this business. You can't really compare them, because their characters are totally different. From a in-ring point of view, I like Sting's matches more than HHH's, Sting is much more agile while HHH is a powerhouse, different styles and pace. But that doesn't mean HHH sucks. His match with Sting at WM was surprisingly good, I really liked it, and the DX and nWo appearances were the icing on the cake. A bitter one, because of the loss, but overall a very good match, considering their age.
You have to take into consideration that Sting, like Taker, was THE most loyal wrestler to his company. Sting was in WCW right till they closed  the doors, and Taker was in WWE ever since he debuted. Both helped their brands a LOT and, to me, they are both legends and deserve their place in the HOF.

You say Sting barely said a word or wrestled. Well, isn't that what Taker is doing for years now? Showing up for one match only and cutting 2-3 promos with more pyros than words? It's their characters and also their age, they can't be active on a weekly basis and as much as we would like to see them at every Raw and PPV, age takes its toll from all of us...

WWE.com recently spoke with Sting following his Night of Champions match, and below are some highlights:

On working with Seth Rollins at the PPV:

"The biggest pleasure. I’m honored. After 30 years and working with some of the best and some of the greatest, [Rollins] is, I’m telling you, he’s got to be the best I’ve ever worked with. I mean, this guy has it. And I think he’s just scratching the surface on what he will do. I’ve never seen somebody as talented. He’s working two [matches] on Raw, two [matches] on the pay-per-view, he’s involved in every other segment and it’s physical. He’s got guys coming from every angle. There’s a lot on his plate. He’s carrying a lot, and he’s handling it. He’s proven he can do it. I’m just glad I had a chance to work with him. He’s the kind of guy who could be in there with a broomstick and make something very interesting happen, a match that people would love somehow."

On the post-match conversation he had with Rollins:

"Really, I can’t say enough. He poked his head in the ambulance and said, “Man, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what happened.” I said, “Seth, don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault.” And he, for 15 minutes, he said, “I just wanted to tell you what an honor it was, what a pleasure. I can’t believe I had a chance to get in the ring with you and work with you. I was you for Halloween when I was a kid.” He was on and on about it, but man, this young guy, he doesn’t have any idea how much I appreciate being able to work with him."

Neither is Sting's. Yet people love both of them not for what they're doing now but for what they did in their entire career.

But the period where Sting didn't wrestle/talk/appear IS the best known part of his career. Why else would he still be using that character? They don't keep Bikertaker around because they want that to be forgotten.

Because body Builder color face paint surfer Sting does not fit into this timeline duh....

I really hate the thought process with the writers...

Rollins gets dragged under the ring.  Instead of the storyline having him kidnapped by Kane or something to that effect, he shows up on the next show like nothing happened and he just got dragged under and then crawled out.

I understand that not much thought goes into the storylines but it is getting idiotic.  That and the stupid camera tricks where Wyatt shows up after the lights go out and back on.  The gimmick doesn't work and just looks stupid.

They need to get back to what they were doing 15 years ago when it was just people ambushing others in the back and really good feuds.

TVByTheNumbers.com is reporting last night’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW drew a 2.33 rating, which is down from last week’s 2.47 rating.

RAW brought in an average of 3.330 million viewers, with 3.476 million viewers in the first hour, followed by a drop to 3.326 million and 3.188 million in the second and third hours.

RAW also saw it’s lowest number of viewers dating back to the show moving to three hours back in July 2012. Pro Wrestling Torch added that this is a “historically low” enough number that WWE has not seen since the mid 1990’s.

RAW came in third behind NFL Football and SportsCenter on ESPN, and was fourth in the 18-49 demographic.

According to The Wrestling Observer, National Wrestling Alliance President and heel manager in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Bruce Tharpe, recently met with SpikeTV officials in New York City.

The meeting was to potentially get the NWA on SpikeTV, however Tharpe was told by Spike execs that while there might be interest in bringing wrestling back to the network, nothing is on the table right now for the NWA or any other wrestling promotion.

SpikeTV reportedly wants to air shows which draw more interest from women than wrestling does, so in addition to SpikeTV Bruce Tharpe is also looking at other TV possibilities.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
