^^ Just watched this; very well-done and made by a wrestling fan, so it isn't talking down to the viewers. Nice to see Channel 4 starting to embrace wrestling again, too; they were the reason I became a wrestling fan in the first place by showing Sunday Night Heat and the Royal Rumble back in 2000.

Yeah not exactly shocking that Cena won the title. In fact, it was a damn good match, could be match of the year candidate (actually it is, it was so good). I really, really hope the people who keep saying that Cena can't wrestle watch this one. While his moveset is limited compared to say, Styles or Neville or someone like that, he can thrown down just fine in the ring. Sure he's getting older and can't compete like he used to 15 years ago now, still he's putting in the work. So did Styles of course, if it wasn't for him, Cena wouldn't have looked so good.

The Rumble match, kinda sucked though. Orton winning? Really? And Orton and Reigns as the final two? Really WWE? You had a perfect opportunity to have Angle show up even if he got eliminated insantly. Perfect time for say, Balor to show up since he's apparently cleared now? Etc ec. Wyatt should have won it with those as the final three, end of story. But not, Orton goes on to Wrestlemania. Bleh.

I'm an avid 'lurker' of this thread and for the last 10-12 years an 'on/off' WWE viewer, but when it comes to PPV's I'll usually watch the main ones like the Rumble and Mania. This plost will contain Spoilers so tread carefully.

Last night, after the build up that this Rumble has had I decided to do something I haven't done in a long time (and I mean a LOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG time) and that was stay up and watch the Rumble Live. Being in the UK it mean't a quick sleep between 8pm and 11:50pm before tuning in and catching the end of the Pre-Show with HBK cutting a small promo. 2 other friends were watching LIVE so we had a Party Chat going on via Xbox Live which really added to the experience of watching this PPV.

I'm not going to go through my thoughts on the whole card just the bits that I either appreciated or thought 'what the actual **** were you think WWE creative????'.

Spoiler

1. KO vs Reigns.

Talking between us could see this ending with a clean finish, we discussed Jericho dropping his belt down to KO to use on Reigns (although we weren't far off as he pulled a knuckle duster out & dropped it down) as well as Rollins interfering but this 'summed up' our night as we were so far off the mark. Strooman interferring really came from left field for me, it was a WTF moment when he came in to the ring and demolished Reigns which allowed KO to grab the win. It's nice to see KO retain as I find him way more entertaining than Reigns! The spot with the chair was a nice touch too!

2. AJ Styles vs John Cena

Now, as per our thoughts for the previous title match we didn't think this would end clean but yet again we were wrong. This match was full of 'What the hell' moments with Cena and Styles really bringing the goods for this match. Cena adding some new moves to his move set really added to the match. The backwards and forwards submission interchange was a good touch too. Overall I really enjoy this match.

3. The Royal Rumble Match

One Word: Disappointment...

Let's start with the wasted spots, so New Day took up 2 spots, Enzo at #27 (Really....) and the amount of times the buzzer went & I was left thinking, he won't win he's a turd was countless. By the time we got to #25 you knew 3 of them was going to be Taker, Lesnar & Goldberg which left 2 people as a surprise & for them to give us Reigns and Enzo was a slap in the face! What happened to having Balor, Joe, Nakamura, Angle or Kane? There wasn't a single mark our moment after the buzzer went which is really poor form from WWE. What I don't get is why WWE didn't use the Rumble Match to continue with Reigns/Strooman? Get Reigns in the match whilst Strooman is there and get them trading blows, instead they throw Reigns out at #30 long after Strooman is gone. One thing we got wrong was that we genuinely thought WWE was going to throw a Brock equaliser in to the mix by having him eliminate Goldberg quickly, but nope, WWE seem to digging Brock a grave for his career as that's now 2 encounters between the 2 and he's lasted less than 2 minutes! Reigns eliminating Taker...does this mean they will now feud meaing the Strooman interference was wasted? WWE seriously need to stop shoving Reigns down out throats, as soon as his music hit the crows shut up as if they were attending a funeral which was then followed by an onslaught of boo's. Chris Jericho's run was mostly spent napping, I genuinely thought he was going to sleep his way to the final 2! Really poor booking from WWE with no Old Skool/Veteran's entering at all.

I stayed up too and I mostly regret it. What a letdown the rumble match was.

Spoiler

Only one surprise entry and it wasn't even much of a surprise; more an obvious thing to do (Tye Dillinger debuting at 10).

And word to WWE: We know you mute the boos whenever Roman Reigns' music hits; you're fooling no one!

Oh, and since @Scazzamentioned WTF moments, I've got a little story from last night: JBL blocked me on Twitter for mentioning a certain bit in WhatCulture's WTF Moments series. I didn't even direct the tweet at him! I was responding to a tweet from Paddy Power, they tagged him, and I just left it in. Didn't think he'd be such a sensitive snowflake. :p

Now if I had mentioned his faux pas during NXT TakeOver San Antonio - which was a bloody great show as usual, by the way - I'd understand him blocking me...

So, just because of his childish actions last night...

And go and buy the t-shirt. ;)

As seen on last night’s Royal Rumble PPV Roman Reigns was attacked by Braun Strowman at the end of his bout against Kevin Owens. As we have reported before Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns will be facing off against each other at WWE Live events heading in to WrestleMania.

Later in the night Reigns would return as an entrant in the Royal Rumble match and would eliminate The Undertaker from the match. Dave Meltzer noted on last night’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan is for Reigns to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania following the elimination.

Meltzer also notes that the plan is for Goldberg to face Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Fastlane and go on to defend the title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Wrestlezone

I usually just lurk but man, I am extremely peeved about the rumble result. When is WWE going to pull the trigger on Bray Wyatt? He is slowly becoming a joke. He loses all his feuds and doesnt win the big one. With cena winning the title, wyatt is not going to get it on elimination chamber. Is orton going to end up facing cena? That will be a waste of a match. Been there done that.

Reigns facing undertaker? and what? lose?

Undertaker was there on wrestlemania 34 city reveal. He is most likely going to do a match on wrestlemania 34 next year.

Funny you should say that, Meltzer recently said that that's the plan...

I highly doubt that they will make cena drop the belt a month into his reign. I think it might be cena vs orton vs bray at WM. If sane heads prevail, cena and orton will put wyatt over at WM. Wyatt, could be the top heel of the company.

    • macOS ‘Golden Gate' unveiled with standalone Siri app, performance improvements and more by Hamid Ganji After months of rumors about Apple’s latest software updates, the company unveiled macOS 27 at the 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference. macOS 27 isn’t a major departure from the previous version; instead, it focuses on refining the user experience and fixing some of the annoying bugs users have reported over the past year. The new macOS 27 is named Golden Gate. When it comes to the list of new features, you should not expect a long one, as Apple has followed the Snow Leopard playbook from 2009 with macOS 27. First, the Liquid Glass interface isn’t gone; it's been updated to improve readability. It gets a new slider in settings to adjust Liquid Glass, letting you go from ultra-clear to fully tinted with ease. App icons also get an additional layer of Liquid Glass to look sharper. Smoother system animations, faster content loading, and a similar corner radius for windows are other improvements for macOS 27. With iOS 27, Apple released a standalone Siri app for iPhone users, and the app is also coming to Macs with the latest update. The all-new Siri AI app features a chatbot-style interface and aims to compete with Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It supports both text and voice prompts and provides users with access to previous conversations for reference. The Siri app can also perform a wide range of tasks, including on-device search, image generation, information summarization, and more. Users can also rely on Siri for personal context. Siri is integrated with various apps, allowing users to complete tasks with a single prompt. With the screen awareness capability, you can ask Siri about locations and images on your screen. Which devices won’t get macOS 27? If you’re still using an Intel-powered Mac, we have bad news for you. macOS 27 is only compatible with Apple Silicon chips and drops support for Intel-based Macs. Here’s a list of devices that won’t be compatible with macOS 27: Mac Pro (2019) 16-inch MacBook Pro (2019) 27-inch iMac (2020) 13-inch MacBook Pro (2020) When can you get macOS 27? Apple developers can now access the first beta of macOS 27. However, the first public beta is expected to be released sometime next month. Users will have to wait until this fall for the stable version of macOS 27.
    • Who wants to pay higher prices for the same 6+ year hardware in a new shell? This is hardware where things change fast and improve continuously. They could update w/ quicker/more efficient compute, faster storage, new controllers with new features (not a shell/design update), which are all realistic possibilities. They've done mid-generation console updates, but all we've had for Series X/S are not just different configuration updates (storage / digital versions / console aesthetics). Instead they've prioritized acquisitions, increasing prices, and have lost quite bit of their fan base because of lack of vision.
    • LibreOffice developer takes a dig at Euro-Office in new open letter by Usama Jawad LibreOffice maintainer The Document Foundation (TDF) has often criticized Microsoft for popularizing the OOXML standard for documents instead of the truly open-source OpenDocument Format (ODF). It has also bashed the Redmond tech giant for putting its own commercial interests over everything else. Now, it has switched targets a bit to aim its sights at the Euro-Office suite launching tomorrow. For those unaware, Euro-Office is a direct fork of OnlyOffice. It is being marketed as an open-source "European sovereign alternative" to proprietary services like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It is being developed by a coalition of European companies including Nextcloud, IONOS, and Tuta. However, TDF has disagreed with this marketing classification in an open letter, saying that it is not the first open-source office suite being developed in Europe, as that honor belongs to OpenOffice.org, back in 2001. In a snide remark, it has emphasized that it feels "compelled" to clarify this because open-source initiatives should highlight transparency, not deception. It has stated that OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice are the only two "genuine" office suites with codebases in Europe, indicating that Euro-Office is a freeware clone of Microsoft Office that has rebranded itself to masquerade as a symbol of digital sovereignty. TDF has also remarked on the fact that those that are championing digital sovereignty now were very dismissive of LibreOffice and ODF a couple of decades ago: The LibreOffice has once again called out Microsoft for its "horrible" OOXML standard which locks in customers. Euro-Office also leverages this OOXML format, which effectively makes it an ally of Microsoft, according to LibreOffice. That said, it is unlikely if TDF's strong words will have any impact on the adoption or marketing of Euro-Office.
    • Apple finally brings the slider for Liquid Glass and many other changes by Aditya Tiwari Apple kicked off the official live stream of the WWDC 2026 annual developer event. The company began its latest wave of announcements with changes to the controversial Liquid Glass design language, which debuted last year across Apple's entire software ecosystem. A lot of people didn't like Liquid Glass when it first arrived on iPhone and other devices last year. The devices were plagued with transparency issues and whatnot. While Apple improved things over the year, it has now added a new Liquid Glass slider that lets you switch the transparency from clear to opaque. In other words, you can choose the amount of Liquid Glass you want to see on your iPhone instead of an on/off switch, which would only give you two choices. The sidebars now expand to the edge of the window. When you scroll the UI sideways, the refraction continues beneath the sidebar rather than being cut off at the boundary. Moreover, sidebar icons keep their color. Apple has changed the way Liquid Glass is rendered across the system. There is a separation between different layers, which makes buttons in the toolbar stand out from the background. Apple said it "deeply appreciates" the feedback it received from users and has made adjustments to Liquid Glass. New customizations allow Liquid Glass to improve contrast and enable a more vibrant appearance. The new icons have sharper edges, which addresses an old complaint that iOS 26 icons look blurry at smaller sizes. The upgraded Liquid Glass, Apple said, is building on last year's design upgrades by "integrating additional layers of Liquid Glass directly into the artwork itself." Apple's upgraded design language is available on iOS 27, which is arriving this year with no changes to the list of supported iPhones.
