Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is now back in the picture in regards to a potential sale of TNA Wrestling.

Meltzer also noted that Dixie Carter is in a position to be able to sell TNA to whoever she likes. Apparently whatever deal is being worked out has become very complicated.

TNA is said to be running out of time to make a deal and at last word Billy Corgan still did not have a deal in place to buy TNA. Corgan was on ESPN earlier this week and made it sound like a potential deal could be weeks away but Meltzer is reporting that a deal would need to be worked out by Friday.

The reason the deal would need to be finalized by Friday is because Corgan would need to be able to fund this Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory as well as next week’s TNA Impact Wrestling TV tapings. Friday is the last business day before Sunday’s Bound For Glory and that’s why Friday is the day that the deal would have to be done by.

Wow...

Yeah, very dire straits for TNA (if it's all true). :/ Such a shame, too, since their shows have been back on form this year.

As noted, TNA President Billy Corgan appeared on ESPN Radio’s Dan Le Batard show this morning, and during the interview Corgan addressed the current state of TNA Wrestling and below are some highlights.

Corgan confirmed there is a “gunfight” right now over who will get majority control of TNA, and when asked by show host Le Batard how you beat Vince McMahon when he wants to purchase something, Corgan had the following to say:

Quote

“You don’t, and that’s what’s part of the equation. Vince McMahon wants to buy the company.”

Le Batard also plugged TNA Bound for Glory this Sunday and asked if the PPV is still going to happen, and although Corgan seemed to think it will, he did not give a clear “yes” or “no” answer. Corgan said for the past 3 years TNA has needed a “Music City Miracle” to make Bound for Glory happen, and each year the PPV took place as scheduled.

Corgan said the current TNA situation is complicated because pro wrestling is struggling with revenue, and a pro wrestling show will typically generate much lower revenue than a show with similar, or even lower ratings. Corgan added not only is there a money struggle within TNA right now, but there is also a creative struggle.

Corgan confirmed Vince McMahon’s interest in buying TNA, but he said as of right now Vince has not purchased the company and Corgan would be the first person to know since he has a stake in TNA.

When asked about his pro wrestling philosophy, and how he would create a unique wrestling product compared to WWE, Corgan admitted WWE has really been the only wrestling company with a winning philosophy.

Corgan thinks he could create a different type of product with TNA, but there are obstacles in the way as others in the company have a completely different vision for how TNA and Impact Wrestling should be presented. Corgan also stressed the importance of consistent capital for TNA, which is something he said the company has not had in a long time.

It gets worse...

I really hope Bound for Glory doesn't get cancelled at the last minute.

It seems like it may be if Vince has his way.

Google searching makes it seem like Bound For Glory is still a go though.

Unless basically Billy Corgan or the Neo-Nazis buy it, TNA (and BFG) are done.

Sad but true. If WWE buy it, pretty much everyone in TNA will be out of a job. A few lucky wrestlers might get signed, but everyone else would be left to fend for themselves in the indies both sides of the pond, or try their luck in Mexico/Japan.

Its really not that sad. The company has been badly managed for many, many years and its a wonder it made it this far.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Jamie Noble has been hospitalized after he was stabbed two times early Wednesday morning inside of a trailer park.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office tells us Jamie allegedly returned home early in the morning from a WWE event after a long drive, and then left to get a snack while his girlfriend took a bath.

We’re told upon returning to Shadowood mobile home park, a driver pulled in behind his car and got out to accuse Jamie of cutting him off on the road.  Jamie allegedly apologized, but the two men continued to argue and Noble eventually took the man to the ground when things got physical.

Police officials say 2 other men got out of the suspect’s car at that point, and at least one stabbed Jamie — once in the upper back and once in the mid-back/spine area — before taking off.

EMS were called and Jamie Noble was eventually treated, then taken to the emergency room.

We’re told WWE is aware of the situation and they’ve already made contact with police.

Noble was last seen on TV in March to break up a fight between Roman Reigns and Triple H. He also had a lengthy stint as J&J Security with Joey Mercury.

Our sources say he’s currently in the hospital, but no longer in the ER. His current condition is unclear.

^^ Probably the reason why Galloway's injured and had to be pulled from both TNA and EVOLVE's shows.
