Colin-uk: lolcats package is up for debate :p

tunafish: You can find the wallpaper [here] (not my work but I couldn't find the original site where I got it)

selflysis: I've only ever messed with Vista skinning, in which case it wouldn't be too terribly difficult, hardest part would be getting the window border just right.

Maybe I'll just try Shift instead of waiting for a windows port, fine job!

Shift is based on Ubuntu, so this theme will be compatable with just about any Linux distro that has Gnome (for starters, then we'll have KDE and others soon). But of course, we'd prefer it if you use Shift :p

I'm not quite sure I like the shade of blue for the titlebar... Perhaps try changing it to the color of the blue arrow for the Shift logo?

I like the overall look a lot though. Well done :)

It seems cobbled to me. The panel doesn't coordinate with the window's color scheme. The titlebar is too big. The minimize, resize and maximize buttons are too big. The border of the window doesn't contrast very well nor does it match the titlebar (at least in the screen shot, it's hard to tell since it is transparent). On top of all that it reminds me too much of Luna for XP which is another ugly theme.

Maybe you should the colour of the middle button (min/maximize i think) so it stands out a bit better.

Oh, well I had those as like showing what it would look like when your mouse is over it. So, defautly it would appear just like the min/maximize button.

Agreed. Looks like a theme for XP :(

With many questions about the taskbar and the window color, I have made 2 mockups now. I originally made the taskbar a different kinda generic color in order to let the user pick any color for their window and still have it work. However, I realized that the color I picked wasn't completely generic. So below I have a more generic (black) and then I also have the taskbar being the same as the window. Note, the window colors are darker. Also, I made it look like what it would be with no mouseovers on the min/max/close, so you can see how a window would be the majority of the time.

Black Taskbar:

Same Color Taskbar:

Which do you like better? Still too XPish?
