How long does it take % wise into the game to unlock the 2nd island?

I've been messing around on the game today, playing pool and Qub3d (even got a hi-score woo lol). It's amazing the attention to detail they've put into the game with all these little mini games dotted around the place :D

I was playing with some friends and we couldn't figure out split-screen. Is this even possible? And I noticed details are lacking in this version compared to San Andreas. Weren't you able to "pimp" out your ride with custom colors/body add-ons/ etc...? also, I remeber lifting weights, getting hair cuts and tattooos in San Andreas. I thought these were awesome components and I hope they arent left out of this version. anyone come across thses things??

They were left out... we've known this since the early previews from last year...

Stuck on this Mission, anyone got any tips on getting it done?

Deconstruction for Beginner's - I keep dying in the actual site, its a pain in the butt! I will buy some body armor next time but I don't know if that will let me complete the mission. (It might be that I just suck!)

After you snipe the three guys, don't go directly to the construction site. Instead, run towards the water, and find a boat to jack.

Then use the boat to go around to the back of the construction site. Towards the far side, there is an RPG (you'll need to use the boat to jump up to get it). You may need to google to find the exact location.

After taking out the first two union heads, when the helicopter comes to take the 3rd one away, use the RPG to scare the helicopter away. The last union guy will run and hide, but not very far. From here, you can somewhat take your time taking out the rest of the union workers, so you don't have to hurry.

^ No.

The clear downfall of this game is the online capability, or lack of. If you manage to connect to the server you join with about 3 others. No fun at all.

8 / 10 imho

So you knock it down a score because of server issues? Did you knock down COD4 when it had server issues, sure hope you did. (note trying to target you or anything, but if your knocking a score down due to server issues, that's just plain stupid. Considering how many other blockbuster hits had the same exact problem)

But anyways this game is a 10/10, if you combine everything and not single something out nothing on the market can touch it, that's why it's a 10. Not because it has excellent online system, or a franchise title, because when you look at everything as the big picture no other game can touch the depth or detail of the game. Best game I've played since COD4, and it beats that out flat.

And good riddance imo, those were the types of "gameplay features" which killed GTA for me

what?! There is actually a lot left out that was good man....the planes, the bicycles, robbing houses. I just couldn't believe they kinda back tracked. Oh well I still think it is an awesome game just kinda wished I could customize the cars. I could do without the hair tattoos etc...

Those I miss, but they aren't what I meant. I was referring to the gym / barbers etc :p

GTA4 is going back to the roots with a lot of improvements along the way. It's the same feeling going from GTA1 to GTA3 imo.

Playing online is fun as hell too :)

yeah it is crazy online. I have touble connecting somtimes but it is ridiculously fun

I am glad they took that sh8t out; I was getting tired of going to gym and barber shop every freaking day (maybe every couple of days).

I love this game but there is little stuff that stills bother me thought, like when in store the loading time for changing cloth is still high. And whenever I am doing one of those really hard mission it's always and I mean always dark outside (I know it's me but it's every freking time).

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
