I was thinking that given that fanless graphics cards are also available (and GPUs get very hot too), if there was a fanless solution for the CPU. It is huge, So be sure it will fit in your case! As with all fanless coolers, use of the Ninja is restricted by the type of CPU you are intending to use with it. We recommend using this cooler fanless if your CPU is a Pentium 4 Northwood (any speed), or an Athlon 64 3500+ or lower. If you intend to use the cooler with a socket 775 processor or a CPU faster than an Athlon 64 3500+ then we recommend you install the supplied 120mm fan. The Ninja-PLUS is supplied with two retaining clips and a 120mm fan for use with a high-end CPU, like Intel?s and AMD?s new dual core processors. There are plenty of fanless CPU Coolers, you could pretty much run a c2d with the stock heatsink without a fan, it'd shorten the life of the chip but no one uses a CPU til it dies these days anyway. The above quote is pretty much bull****, a P4 runs a hell of a lot hotter than a c2d. Its only impractical if you are trying to put it on a gaming rig or something that will run hot, under constant load even with good cooling.
