Gweedo
I have a 2k machine that is only letting the page file go to 20MB. It's brand new and has 2 80GB hard drives which only have about a gig each. I've tried everything from huge sizes on both to nothing on both and it keeps giving me an error on start-up about the page file, saying there's no page file or it's too small. Any ideas? -=FaiTHLeSS=-
Your page file is corrupt or you have removed access from the drive the page file is on, so it is unable to create itself. Make sure that the "everyone" group has access on the drive which has the page file, the group should have full control of the drive. If this doesnt work you will need to delete the page file and recreate it. Check MS KB for a howto.
Gweedo
That did the trick. Thanks.
bid1
If you have plenty of memory (ram ) meaning 512Mb or more , it is better to keep the paging file at a very minimum. I have 1Gb of Ram and I disabled the paging file all together . Running just fine.
