TrendMicro AV Incompatibility with VISTA 64bit

Recommended Posts

if i were you i'd switch to another av that does not force you to run uac off such as avg or esset and if they dont giev u a refund then report them to the bbb but if you asked for a refund after 14 days then your sol, running with admin rights is bad as it can do what all it wants but running without admin rights protect you as it will limit the damage an app can do if it indeed evil, thats why user mode is sweet.

if we're talking about a recommened antivirus i would definately say avast. it's the only one i've found that isn't annoying. all the others seem to feel the need to tell you they are updating their virus definitions. unsurprisingly it gets dull after it keeps happening, avast is much less intrusive.

Eden seems to know what she is talking about. I did the uninstall and clicked on the "new" build. TrendMicro Internet Security 2008 IS A GO!......Scanning right now with my UAC "ON".......Thank You Eden.......AND thanks to all who talked me into using the "UAC"......(I hope Vista SP1 is this easy)

Best Regards

It's good to see that Trend have sorted their software out! I was horrified that Trend even suggested disabling UAC as a workaround.

Now you can be happy that you have 2 layers of protection - which is better than 1.

Will see if and when I get the Windows Automatic Update Vista SP1..........
