Meh I just migrated everything to Filezilla because it chmods much better than SmartFTP. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

The installer doesn't seem to work for me. UAC prompt, and when I accept, nothing happens.

Edit: Nevermind, used the link in the post at their forums and that works.

I've looked all through the settings several times and cannot find it: is there any way to disable the "Transfer Queue"? I completely dislike it. I don't mind using it sometimes, but not all the time.

There seems be an almost daily update to SmartFtp 3.0.

My current 2.5 version is working great so I will hold off until 3.0 stabilizes

I second this. The Transfer Queue is awful, especially when testing and debugging - I will certainly not renew my subscription if the direct mode is not re-introduced.

I found that the transfer queue automatically begins transfers when the queue window (ctrl+q) is open. If it's closed, you'll have to tell it to go. This annoyed me at first, but since I have a 20" monitor, I don't mind the little space the queue window takes. Still, forcing the transfer queue was a dumb move.

Neither FlashFXP or SmartFTP FTW. FTP for people like us (end users, the lowest link in the piracy chain) died a long time ago. Now we have bittorrent to get our stuff and not have to worry about finding some secret FTP to download.

i didnt realize that people uploading files to their webserver required anything more than telnet.exe included with MS Windows... :p
