Unto Darkness
^ Watch it. You are flame baiting. This is a very old article. Here is one at Ars Technica dated back in May 2007. giga Veteran Posted April 3, 2008 Veteran Share Posted April 3, 2008 Actually, all TN panels are 6-bit, which means that the desktop LCD panel you're using is probably 6-bit too, unless you have a 24" or above panel which is probably PVA or IPS. Take note that all the ACDs are S-IPS panels. (thus the higher price relative to the market which mainly uses TN and S-PVA) It's among the most used displays among professional photographers. (in addition to Eizos, high end NECs, and Lacies) For some trivia, the 24" imacs use H-IPS panels. ;) Yeah, the cinema displays are getting updated soon. -Vivicidal-
I guess the extra cost goes to profit, not quality. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/627901-apple-settles-lawsuit/page/2/#findComment-589310256 Share on other sites
rajputwarrior
couldn't you technically demand a refund for your product if it was misadvertised? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/627901-apple-settles-lawsuit/page/2/#findComment-589310266 Share on other sites
abecedarian paradoxious
I had lot's to say, but nothing much is worth while other than to say they claim colors, but don't deliver... and claim security... and... well... were hacked faster than Vista. I'd love to say you get what you pay for, but that would be an insult to e-machine, all things considered. +Nik Louch Subscriber² Posted April 3, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted April 3, 2008 The OS has no clue how many bit's your panel is I beg to differ. If you install drivers correctly, or at least the correct monitor descriptor (.inf), then the OS DOES know the specs of your monitor surely!?
