how do you guys get those drop shadows working? i have tried within the compiz fusion manager window-windows decoration, but no matter what i do, the shadows wont appear. the nvidia driver is enabled, and all other plug-ins work, like the wubble effect etc. but no shadows whatsoever.

BTW, i followed this guide. i'm using the new ubuntu.

The shadow settings should be in the window decoration plugin.

Well, after messing around with Ubuntu here and there for the past few months, I've decided to make it my primary OS on my laptop (keeping a small xp installation on just incase the need arises). Anyway, tried out 8.04, but it had too many bugs for my liking (and for the life of me I couldn't set up my wireless card), so I reverted back to 7.10 and, except for a couple of hiccups here and there (and a reinstall or two) I couldn't be happier. Here's my desktop so far:

I know it's really boring... But hey! I switched to Linux and I'm loving it!

That is about what my desktop looks like. I like the Hardy Heron. I tried to buy one of their t-shirts but they sold out too fast, only 500 available or something.
