Delish..... I love to see pure Mac homes :)

I am flirting with the idea of dropping a bit of coin on a new Mac Pro with dual 30's. It is one of those things that I have wanted ever since the PowerMac G5 came out years ago. Bump it up to 4GB of RAM (enough to run a couple of VMs) and I would have no excuses to ditch the last of my Windows PCs.

Currently running a standard 15" MBP that I bumped to 2GB. I just picked up an 802.11n Airport and daisy-chained my 4 500 GB drives off it. Yummo, 2TB of storage and no computer required :)

Oh, you just gave me really bad ideas with that setup...my husband is going to kill me. I need to get a set of those shelves for my office to clean up the 'graveyard' corner in my office. :p

I am unfortunately very OCD when it comes to my house. Part of it comes from living alone, there is no excuse for a mess. As far as my office setup, it is 1000% times worse.

Those speakers are lovely, what are they if I may ask :) I fancy changing my Sony Bookshelves I use on my setup to aid my towers for something more modern looking.

I know what you mean, i have some towers back home which aren't that nice looking..

But anywho there Mordaunt Short 902i's. From Richer Sounds.

Is that a Samsung 204BW I spy? same TFT as me, do you suffer alot from glare even on low light settings, mine really bugs my eyes after only a hour or so and I am so tempted to get rid.

It is indeed! Can't say mine does suffer from glare maybe a little but i think thats because its dvi connection, its pretty much perfect actually. I have my settings on 100% bright, 75% contrast - seems perfect :)

Is that a 226BW on your wall because mine and as far as I know everyone else's 226BWs have terrible viewing angles especially from the bottom - isn't that a problem for you since you got it wall mounted pretty high and say you're going to move it up even more?

I have the 226CW, the viewing angles arent bad, but better than the BW. I'm not going to be on the floor forever. My desk is currently being used as a work bench.

I use DVI also on a 8800GTS, I have recently noticed *well tonight*, that it was on 59hz and was not using proper scaling, I switched it to 60hz and to Nvidia Scaling and it's been easier on my eyes, much less strain.

I still feel my friends Apple display is far easier on the eyes to use.

Do you find yourself moving from Text to Game alot btw?

Aah thats good then! Um no, i dont really use the MagicBright feature actually - completely forgot about it, think i'll start using haha - has been times when i come home from using a Mac to my screen and its hard to look at when im tired.

My room is a bit of a tip in the process of dumping loads of junk out cause I'm gonna do a total redecoration ma room is green but it never gets any sun light so gonna go for a yellow colour, gonna use that TV stand near ma PC in place for my TV stuff then will get a 2 person couch to make my gaming more comfy and sociable will be getting new chair, carpet, curtains etc can't wait to start it. So here is a before (now) then I will post after when my room is all done, btw thats Vista Home Premium x64 on 5GB ram is totally flies.

      It's funny that iPhone users think they are getting feature, where in fact they are getting cosmetics that just do iteration circles of "improvement" of the said cosmetics. Apple just doesn't know what to do with this product anymore. There is no innovation on this areas anymore.

      Alpine Linux 3.24 released with support for COSMIC Desktop and other improvements by David Uzondu Alpine Linux 3.24 has been released with updated system packages, including Linux kernel 6.18 and Rust 1.96. The team also added IPv6 support to the system installer, and they introduced automatic serial console configuration for headless setups. System76's COSMIC desktop environment is now available in the community repo. System76 originally started building this DE because its developers found GNOME to be pretty limited. Plus, it did not help that with virtually every GNOME update, the changes broke System76's custom desktop extensions. As for system packages, the Alpine team moved GTK+ 3.0 from the main repository to the community repository due to its legacy status. py3-setuptools has been upgraded to version 82.0.0, while the old pkg_resources module has been completely dropped. The team also removed outdated packages that still relied on py3-six and GTK+ 2.0. In addition to that, libsoup 2 has been removed because the library was affected by multiple security vulnerabilities. If you're a GRUB user, the Alpine Team said that you must manually run the grub-install command with your specific device or EFI options right after upgrading your system, otherwise, your computer may fail to boot properly with the newly updated GRUB 2.14 bootloader. New installations of Alpine Linux now offer an optional path to a /usr-merged directory layout if you set the BOOTSTRAP_USR_MERGED environment variable to 1 before you execute the setup-disk command. If you already run an older installation, you can migrate manually by installing the merge-usr package and executing its binary as the root user. The team recommends this layout to align Alpine with modern Linux standards, though you should verify your custom scripts before making the switch. It's been around since 2005, comes with its own package manager called Alpine Package Keeper (APK), and is widely used in modern cloud computing and software deployment.
