Windows XP SP3 Is Now RTM.

Recommended Posts

The link in the OP doesnt work anymore, just FYI. Works now.

And once again, unless someone can post a CREDIBLE source (beta members don't count sorry :p), then SP3 is NOT RTM.

FYI your claim has already been established, just FYI.

Why should it be leaked? It's meant for general consumption, the question is... When will Microsoft offer SP3 for download.

Well if its the case that its finished it might get leaked say a week or 2 before its meant to released to the manufacturers

i personally cant wait, im using an old installation atm, as soon as sp3 comes i'll be slipstreaming and using it right away

Hey, I Could Have Chosen 2 Post This In The Normal Place That I Post Microsoft News Like This Which Is Either Microsoft.Public.Windows.Vista.General And/Or Microsoft.Public.Windowsxp.General, Instead I Decided 2 Post This Here, But Seeing How I Am Getting Some Negative Replies 2 This Post, I Guess That Was A Big Mistake, As Some People Are Trying 2 Accuse Me Of Posting An April Fools Joke, Just FYI. Thanks A Lot, Just FYI.

FYSAH. LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Heres the offical Download Link

Its legit, im thinking its going to be here proberly,

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Doubtful. Every download has a unique ID associated with them. The binaries won't be appended to that page; that's purely for the overview documents.

Sorry, that is a bad habit of mine that I picked up while posting in microsoft.public.windows.vista.general, and it is very difficult 4 me to change, just fyi.

I'm curious where from, I was a Windows Shell MVP between 2003 and 2007 posting in the W2K, XP and Vista groups fairly regularly. I'm pretty sure that wasn't usual behaviour and that the usenet police would be trying to beat you to death with sticks for that over there.

lol probably a very good aprils fools. :D

FYI, i like bacon and eggs. Just FYI.

FYI, I like turtles. Just FYI.

Why are some people so eager to obtain SP3 before everyone else? Is this another epeen phenomena?

Please stop posting download links that aren't even real. I know it our duty to want the latest and greatest SP from M$ but ya know we can wait for it. It will eventually be released and we will all have it. This should never have been posted yet again till the final release is out and ready for download.

Maybe you could change it to "Just FYI..."

We have all been saying that since he posted it. It is not RTM because there is no official release of it. Plus he couldn't even provide a download link. He could provide an informational website that could have been updated 3 years ago. So this thread should have never been started to begin with. He even had Bink referring to him saying that it has been released when in fact it really has not. Stop providing the informational links and just wait till it has actually been released to download. M$ will make an official announcement I am sure.

You may want to read this Tech ARP article on when WinXP SP3 will be officially released:

http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=521

2nd half of April 2008 is the earliest possibility. Perhaps on the week of April 20-26. The folks at Tech ARP know their stuff and their predictions of the Vista SP1 final release have been accurate.

I can still find adblocking solutions than having to rely on a browser from a shady company. • Alpine Linux 3.24 released with support for COSMIC Desktop and other improvements by David Uzondu Alpine Linux 3.24 has been released with updated system packages, including Linux kernel 6.18 and Rust 1.96. The team also added IPv6 support to the system installer, and they introduced automatic serial console configuration for headless setups. System76's COSMIC desktop environment is now available in the community repo. System76 originally started building this DE because its developers found GNOME to be pretty limited. Plus, it did not help that with virtually every GNOME update, the changes broke System76's custom desktop extensions. As for system packages, the Alpine team moved GTK+ 3.0 from the main repository to the community repository due to its legacy status. py3-setuptools has been upgraded to version 82.0.0, while the old pkg_resources module has been completely dropped. The team also removed outdated packages that still relied on py3-six and GTK+ 2.0. In addition to that, libsoup 2 has been removed because the library was affected by multiple security vulnerabilities. If you're a GRUB user, the Alpine Team said that you must manually run the grub-install command with your specific device or EFI options right after upgrading your system, otherwise, your computer may fail to boot properly with the newly updated GRUB 2.14 bootloader. New installations of Alpine Linux now offer an optional path to a /usr-merged directory layout if you set the BOOTSTRAP_USR_MERGED environment variable to 1 before you execute the setup-disk command. If you already run an older installation, you can migrate manually by installing the merge-usr package and executing its binary as the root user. The team recommends this layout to align Alpine with modern Linux standards, though you should verify your custom scripts before making the switch. Alpine Linux is a pretty tiny (~5MB) Linux distro built around musl libc, BusyBox, and OpenRC. It's been around since 2005, comes with its own package manager called Alpine Package Keeper (APK), and is widely used in modern cloud computing and software deployment.
