"Access Denied" trying to access network drive

Question

david    51

I have two computers networked. One Vista, one XP.

I have shared out my external drive that is connected to the Vista machine.

Then I have mapped a network drive on the XP machine.

When I try to access network drive by double clicking it, I get a Access Denied message.

But when I right click on the drive and "Explore", it works perfect. Pictures, Videos etc play fine.

Same goes for the other way around. I have shared out a folder on the XP machine, and map it on the Vista machine..... I dont get it.

Whats the deal? Help?

Ya you can network the 2, thing is , is that vista is a permission ######. Once you setup the permissions on vista everything should work good.

Have you tried setting up the login and password for the network drive?

I suppose you do this on the computer sharing out the folder?
