I got a better one. My sister is taking a continuing education computer classs and the instructor told them that a dual core CPU is so that if 1 core breaks you will have a backup. LMAO!!!!!!!!!

I thought 1 core was for gaming and the other was for porn. who knew

ROFL!

aaahahaha thats pure gold!

teacher sounds like a really crap "paper geek" people who get a degree in computing and still don't know four fifths of f**k all about them and have little real interest in them they just get computer degree cause they think it's easy and makes good money but little do they know computers and the industry and real geek make it not a nice place for posers,

internet and computers are serious business.

explain that to the teacher..

Had you guys consider maybe she ment "OS" as the OS from the ROM such as BIOS (firmware OS)?

In today's society, when you think of an OS, you think either Windows, Mac, or Linux. While Bios could be an OS, I think that's too far outside of the box.

Ive not heard anyone refer to the BIOS as an OS before :p

its possible but unlikely, imo.

Agreed.

OS (as understood here) is an "Operating System"

BIOS is "Basic Input/Output System"

It would be nonsense to refer to a Basic Input/Output System as an "Output System", therefore the term "OS" does not apply to BIOS.

The question is whether or not you want a teacher on your side or a teacher on your ass. Sometimes being right isn't always a good thing. Just let it go and leave her in her own ignorance.

Sod that, I have no faith whatsoever in the teaching of Computing in schools at all after my computing A-level, got well underscored and got my paper back and found a load of **** marked wrong that I knew was right. My Computing teacher even got the marking scheme out (which he's not supposed to do) because we were convinced there were some many marked incorrect. So I got it re-marked and what happened? The mark went down. In this case my teacher was good and it was the examiner's board which was sh*te, but it just made me feel like you have to fight for your education.

You're right, but don't be an arse about it when you show her your findings. Anyone that tries to show a teacher up deliberately is a moron, but showing her the correction maturely will gain you respect.

I agree. Seems like you get along with her somewhat. Just pull her off to the side and tell her and prove to her that she was wrong. She will appreciate that. Don't try to embarass her infront of the class.

ROFLMAO ROFLCOPTER @ the dual core. Now for that I would have gotten up and smacked the teacher around a bit. LOL JK
