(Cooling etc) Obviously i wont be closing the doors when it's in use  Thanks for the help guys, mod please close. Thanks Edited May 9, 2008 by TR4 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/ Share on other sites
Lingwo
Yes that is more than fine. All you have to do is make sure you don't block the back of the 360 and it'll be fine. It will still get toasty though. It just arrived, i think i'll run out and buy a small office cabinet to put it on.. must help it to avoid the RRoD, although it was MFR on 17 March 08 so i'm guessing it's a falcon? Lingwo
If it is going to RROD, it will RROD. No matter how well you look after it. The cupboard is fine, just keep it in there. Chipsets don't matter, it'll still RROD if it wants too. Thanks Lingwo One more question, i have a leaflet that asks for an additional ?59 for an extended 2 years "total protection" should i go for that or does the 3 year guarantee from MS still stand? Lingwo
I believe the 3 year guarantee only counts for RROD's. A lot of people go for the extended warranty. So might be worth your time investing in it. Kushan
I wouldn't bother. You've got a year's warranty anyway, plus 3 for the RROD. In a year's time, how much do you think a 360 will actually cost? Lingwo
True, i never bothered with it. I think if its going to break, it'll break in its first year. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/#findComment-589386461 Share on other sites
Olemus
Infact statistics show that most electronical products break within the 2nd or 3rd year after passing the intial infant mortality period (usually a month or so in the case of a console) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/#findComment-589386553 Share on other sites
Stuge
Man then how much space do you need to keep your Xbox ?? :p I guess the whole room with just your x-box in the middle lol ON a serious note:Yes,it more than enough .Just make sure that place doesn't heat up too much . Kushan
Nothing will happen to the 360 if it gets too hot, it'll just turn itself off and give you a DIFFERENT Red light error. Once it cools down, it's fine. The RROD is caused by heating and cooling the console. In other words, it'll happen eventually if it's going to happen at all, so trying to prevent it is pointless. Besides, it's a new console so it'll be fine. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/#findComment-589386638 Share on other sites

flyingroof
If i was to register the new 360 as a 'registered device' would that count towards proof of purchase to prove the system is still in the free warranty period and RRoD repair time frame? As it was bought over the phone via catalogue and no receipt/proof of purchase was shipped with it? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/#findComment-589388180 Share on other sites
Kushan
It should do, I didn't require any proof of purchase or anything like that. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/635890-is-this-enough-room/#findComment-589388422 Share on other sites
