I want destructable buildings in the next one

a well optimized engine

more realistic sky backdrops

more freedom to move around in levels, stop placing bits of debris or lumps of metal in random spots so you have to keep the fighting in one area.

less missions were u are stuck on a turret blowing stuff up or at least make it so you can gon on foot or in a vechicle.

probably more but i can't think of any...

COD4's engine is already optimized incredibly well compared to other games imo. It scales much better than most modern games. I could play it with a lot of high settings on and aa on my 7600gs. The sky does look pretty bad though (just looks kind of blurry/bad quality)

Definitely +1 for destructible buildings and more freedom.

Have they done anything in the future?

Nuclear War? Chemical Warfare?

Something along the lines of Stalkers landscapes, but the intensity of a Warzone - Gasmasks/suits and radiation galore?

Doesn't need to be 2240, eg space age, maybe even just 20-30 years away from now.

I really am sick sick sick, of World War clones. Frickin hundreds of them doing the same thing - I know it's hard for diversity in a beaten to death genre, but mixing the future into things but still keeping it believable (no flying cars yet), could be a good mix.

2 things are required for me to buy CoD5.

1. It has to be made by Infinity Ward.

Agreed 100%. It HAS to be made by Infinity..... I honestly don't care if it's WWII or not. I have really enjoyed COD4 more than the others, I can tell you that, but I played Day of Defeat and all the old WWII games FOREVER and still enjoy them..

    • Remarkably based article from Garter - apparently there IS someone working there that actually understands mainframe systems.
