markwolfe Veteran Posted May 10, 2008 Veteran Share Posted May 10, 2008 If I recall correctly, Knoppix had a "german/us" flag in the taskbar panel to toggle between keyboard layouts. Might have been part of the problem?

Elv13
If you are new to linux, knoppix may not be the best place to start, maybe Ubuntu would be a better choice if you want to spend an other CD.

Kreuger
Did you checksum it before burning? Can you not even get to the media test from the first menu at boot (where you choose to boot it live, install, etc)? Anyway, if your keyboard is a standard 108-key it should work no problem. Not sure what could've been going wrong.
