Could you link me to the drive.

For 4 gigs of ram I thought that was a good price. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I also need to add a burner :p

Also be prepared to wait about 12 weeks for those OCZ rebates to get to you.

i tried vista home premium and find ultimate to run much more smooth. that was on my old comp in 32bit though. Right now on my self-build I have vista ultimate 64bit and love it though. It's all up to you in the end.

The last thing is a 5.1 under 100 bucks.

How does the acer compare to the samsung?

Well the Samsung you're looking at has no DVI connection (if thats a problem for you). I went to Micro Center just to look at monitors and the Acer looked similar to the Dell E228WFP in picture quality, but neither have a Glossy plastic screen (if thats something you are looking for) like the Samsung.

My advice is to go with something other than ocz ram. I'd rather go with cruical or keningston. OCZ has had a real problem with bad ram lately.

I think I own heck a lot more OCZ RAM than you, and the thing is, while I had problems with an odd unit or two, all the rest are fine. Not to mention that they have excellent warranty.

Your E-penis?

My e-Peen can be as big as I want it to be! No limits :D

SLI Ready RAM might have SLIGHT advantage over regular RAM, I have no idea haha.

The OP isn't even going to be doing SLI anyway. :p

I say just get more RAM, or faster RAM instead of SLI Ready if anything.

Nah, just look at my sig, that's the definition. :p

It's usually just has EPP timings programmed in, so EPP supporting mobo (Read: NVIDIA chipsets) can 'automatically optimize settings'. It's pretty much useless, most enthusiasts will know how to do this anyway. :p

Don't get your panties in a bind  . Before I purchase any ram I always read up on reviews and opinions from various sources. There has been a increasing number of negative reviews lately on newegg, tigerdirect, and a few others reguarding ocz ram. It's just my advice based on what I read. I have also read reports that ocz has taken steps to improve things.

Both cruical and keningston have always performed great for me....I have never had one bad stick from them.

People who write reviews on those sites don't generally write them if the sticks worked as expected. However, they're more inclined to write one if something breaks...just something about human nature I suppose.

So again, making a judgement based on a very limited sample doesn't work. If we go with the bad sticks I've had experience with, then I like all companies because I've never gotten a bad stick.

Additionally, most big RAM companies get their RAM chips and PCBs from the same few companies, just something else to think about.

You would take the review of a random person posting on newegg, tigerdirect over a review from say tomshardware or anandtech?

    • Anyway to download these versions without being on the Experimental builds?
    • Nothing is stopping you from continuing with your testing cadence. If updates are released every 2 weeks instead of 4, and you test once every 4 weeks, the exact same amount of patches will still be available for you in those 4 weeks. For example: Before 4th week - patch 1, 2, 3, 4 After 2nd week - patch 1 and 2 4th week - patch 3 and 4 Still the same amount after 4.
    • Everyone else has said it. I'm gonna say it - you don't know what you're talking about. I do. I have two laptops. One work, one personal. I have access to two more laptops - both personal. At home I manually update my personal laptop when I see on Neowin that there is an update - I carry on and only apply the updates when I am ready. My work one only updates when my workplace decides to send it - I carry on and only apply the updates (when they actually arrive, which is usually days after the release) when I switch off the laptop at the end of the day as usual. The two other personal laptops only get updated when I get to it which is rarely - the people who own them carry on using them until I get to it and update them. All of the browsers on all laptops are configured to restore the tabs when launched. Google and Microsoft have changed from 6 weeks to 4, and it looks like it's going to move to 2. None of these changes affect how any of these browsers on the laptops are used. Not one jot. My advice to you is stop panicking whenever you see an update. Just carry on with what you're doing. This even benefits you in a way - from your comment you sound like you don't like the changes or the frivolous new features - great - then carry on as before!
