IGN had an exclusive conversation with one of the individuals responsible for creating the Gauntlet, and they told us that it is a key item in Odin's collection, just like the Cosmic Cube is, the one we saw Red Skull searching for in footage from Thor.

So right now, you're probably asking: "What the hell is an Infinity Gauntlet?" We got you covered.

The IG is one of the most powerful artifacts in the Marvel U; a golden glove forged with six gems that ensure its wearer ultimate and universal power - as long as the glove has all six gems with it.

The gems control a variety of things, such as time and space. Whomever wields the Gauntlet and the six gems can also fulfill wishes. Its power base has ties to the aforementioned Cosmic Cube, in how the cube can manipulate reality.

Judging by the craftsmanship on display, expect the Gauntlet to be more than just a Marvel Easter Egg. Marvel's feature film panel illustrated the studio's mandate to link all of its properties, to create a cohesive universe in comics and on the big screen.

The Infinity Gauntlet is another step in that process.

Man, Marvel is going all out with these movies now it seems.

I haven't kept up with this thread in awhile, but did the movie always have the "Mighty Avenger" subtitle from the start or?

And The Destroyer! Wooooo, didn't even know Destroyer was gonna be in this. Thought it was just Red Skull and the other low level baddie I can't remember the name of now lol.

Very Detailed Trailer Description!

The trailer begins in an underground cell as Agent Coulsen (Clark Gregg) interrogates an unseen suspect. ?You made my men, some of the most highly trained professionals in the world look like a bunch of minimum wage mall cops.? As he says all this, there are flashes of soldiers being beaten, in the night rain. He continues, ?It takes some one of similar training to do that to them. Why don?t you tell me where you learned to do that?Afghanistan? Pakistan? No, you strike me more as the soldier of fortune type. Who are you?? The suspect looks up, revealing a glaring Chris Hemsworth, as our hero, Thor.

We then find ourselves in outerspace, travelling through the galaxy, until we end up in Odin?s hall, as he reprimands his son. ?I have sacrificed much to achieve peace, he says. So too must a new generation sacrifice to maintain that peace. Responsibility! Duty! Honor! These are not mere virtues to which we must aspire. They are essential to every soldier, to every king. Thor, Odin?s son, through your arrogance and stupidity, you have opened these peaceful realms and innocent lives to the horror and devastation of war. you are a vain, greedy, cruel boy.? Thor spits back, ?You are an old man and a fool!? Odin replies, ?Yes, I was a fool to think you were ready.?

Loki leans in to interject. ?Father??

?HEY!? Odin stops him. Back at Thor, he says ?I now take from you your power. In the name of my father, and his father before him, I cast you out!? Thor screams and we travel through a wormhole, landing in the desert. ?Oh no, this is Earth, isn?t it.? He says as he opens his eyes.

We are introduced to the films ladies, who are wary of him. He takes his shirt off and changes into normal clothes, and Jena Malone says, ?For a crazy homeless guy, he?s pretty cut.?

Over shots of Thor and Miss Portman, we hear him say, ?Here you call it magic?when you can explain it you call it science. Where I come from, they are one and the same.? She asks him, ?Who are you?? He tells her, ?The answers you seek shall be yours once I reclaim what?s mine.? We then see him struggling to lift his hammer, Mjolnir, out of the stone in which it?s embedded.

Back in Asgard, Odin is dying. A woman stands over him and says, ?The line of succession falls to you. Asgard is yours.? Loki, wearing his helmet, smiles wickedly.

Back on Earth, Thor says, ?For the first time in my life, I don?t know what to do.? A womans voice says, ?His fate is in his own hands now.?

After a pause, we see S.H.I.E.L.D. agents gathered in the desert, staring at a giant armored metal being: The Destroyer. ?Is that one of Stark?s?? An agent asks. ?I don?t know. That guy never tells me anything,? Coulson says. He addresses the Destroyer, ?Hello. You are in possession of unauthorized weaponry. Please identify yourself.? The destroyers face opens up to reveal nothing but fire. ?Here we go,? Coulson says. The destroyer then blasts all the cars, and as the battle begins, smash cut to the title logo.

just search Youtube it's getting uploaded every 10 minutes, if not I have it downloaded

Loki actor Thomas Hiddleston explained how he approaches the character:

Loki isn't just an anarchist. He's not just someone who's out to burn the house down. I think his villainy, or what gives him credentials as a supervillain, is that he comes from a deep sense of betrayal. That he's been betrayed by his father, betrayed by his family. That he belongs nowhere. He's caught between two worlds and he's highly alone. And someone with an inclination towards mischief anyway, someone who likes pulling practical jokes, he's a prankster. That inclination is fed into the rejection and he becomes kind of a destructive force. So it's pretty fun.

He then dropped this hint about a not exactly surprising plot twist:

I think in the film, I don't want to give too much away, but you find out that Loki has been responsible for a hell of a lot more than you first might have imagined. And that's all over the comics. You'll be following Thor through one adventure and you think there's one particular bad guy and then Stan Lee and Jack Kirby will pull Loki out from behind the curtain and you see him pulling the strings and you go, "Oh my God, it was Loki all along." Yeah, he is a shape-shifter, someone that is not to be trusted.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Thor director Kenneth Branagh reveals that Anthony Hopkins character, Odin, "runs the universe." This seems to be a deviation from the mythology set up in the comics, but can lead to solid continuity amongst the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As we've seen (or heard) in the recent clips of both Captain America and Thor footage shown at Comic Con, several key cosmic artifacts are being introduced into the film-verse: The Casket of Ancient Winters, the Cosmic Cube (or "Tesseract") and the Infinity Gauntlet and Sword.

It appears that Odin collects these items (along with many more that have yet to be revealed) and stores them in different areas of the universe for safekeeping. The role each play in their respective films, as well as the ensemble film The Avengers, has yet to be discerned.

    • This got me thinking, would you rather a self driving car prioritise protecting its passengers or everyone else? I'd choose the one that keeps me and my kids safest. At some point, these cars have to make those choices already, don't they? Wonder if we have a way to find out what way they lean.
    • The proportion (or number of iterations) has nothing to with this aspect of Copyright I am describing. In short, it doesn't matter how many times the manager tells you to change something or how. Your work product is always YOURS until and unless you then assign that to the person representing the client/company, usually for financial compensation -- either in salary or as a subcontract work for hire payment. if iterations determined copyright, then businesses would have learned to just keep making changes until they could claim they owned the copyright, without having to compensate the artist for their work. And that would be BAD. The only place where the amount of changes does have a role is in how much does a human modify a previous public domain work (from any source) before it is considered fair use or their own work, etc. For example, if a human makes substantial changes to a public domain (re: AI, by definition) work, then they can then claim that derivative work as their own...but NEVER the original version, of course. That's why anyone can make a movie about Dracula, for example, as long as it is based on the public domain novel, but not if they take new ideas from copyrighted movies made afterwards. As one of the people who personally advised the US Copyright Office on their recent ruling on these very issues, be assured that I specifically used the terminology precisely -- though I made it simple enough for laymen to understand it. If I made this confusing by doing so, I apologize. But, to be clear regarding your assumption that I would agree to your second statement that I quoted above -- the answer is NO. If AI does the work, no matter how much "direction" you give it, it cannot be copyrighted. All AI generated content is in the Public Domain and therefore the copyright cannot be assigned to ANYONE, even you -- until and unless substantial modifications are made to it BY A HUMAN BEING (yourself or a contracted artist/writer/etc.) and then that copyright on the derivative work is legally (in writing) transferred to you. This is a critical distinction. And it is important that people, especially AI sloppers, understand this. For example, YouTube is not paying AI slop generators for the copyright, etc. of their AI slop. What YouTube is doing is sharing AD REVENUE for permission to publish your AI slop. Copyright/ownership/rights never come into it. Importantly, that means that anyone can copy any AI slopware on YouTube, etc. and rehost it anywhere they want, even back on YouTube, and there is nothing legal that YouTube can do about it with regards to copyright protections, ownership, DMCA, etc. Anyone is legally free to use any AI slopware in any way they want. When this ruling was pending, I warned Disney legal of all of this before they did their OpenAI deal -- that it would literally dilute their entire IP portfolio forever. They ignored that warning for the PR and stock bump. But that is why, when the ruling came down last year, Disney quickly extricated themselves from that OpenAI deal, even eating the initial upfront fees -- followed closely by OpenAI ending their entire AI video generating business model. They adjusted their PR release dates to make this less obvious to shareholders, of course. Phew. I hope that this clears up the key distinctions for you and anyone reading. If you have any additional questions or even hypotheticals about AI and Copyright, please feel free to ask.
