Don't think we've posted this yet. J. Michael Straczynski, who writes the comic, did a brief cameo in the movie. He writes:

It was supposed to be just a ten second deal, but director Kenneth Branagh decided (against the evidence) that I can act, so he kept putting me in more bits. We'll see what ends up on the cutting room floor, but it was a lot of fun... All I can say is that it was something drawn from my tenure writing the Thor comic...so basically I've finally disappeared into my own narrative. Knew that would happen one of these days.

Are you curious to hear what Kenneth Branagh?s Thor looks like? A user named IndustryKiller posted the following description in the comments of an AICN tackback. While I can?t 100% confirm the following to be legit, and it sounds in line with what industry friends have been telling me.

Everyone looks absolutely perfect, right down tot he color scheme. ANd its straight up medieval future tech looking. And yes Loki has black straight hair even know Hiddleston is blonde and curly. THor is balls accurate though complete with cape, chain mail arms, the circles going down the front of the torso, and winged helmet. I?ve seen the costumes, and they did absolutely [frick]ing nail it. Very Walt Simonson. And I think my reputation as someone very critical of most comic book films procedes me here so I?m not just some excited fanboy. The only thing that is funny about Loki?s costume is that while its gold and has the big horns sticking out, the helmet part of it, meaning the part that actually touches his head, kind of looks like a bicycle helmet, I think more so that it would, practically speaking, stay comfortable on the actor and not move around due to the horns. The warriors three are also the same kind of medieval future tech look, a little less traditional than the comic but still very very awesome and the look of each of the actors themselves is [frick]ing dead on. Ray Stevenson looks especially cool in a chubby suit. Trust me, I think everyone here is going to be very very pleased as Branaugh just more or less adapted the comic. I was surprised at how well the looks work when translated into reality.

Thor might be my least anticipated Marvel production so far, but it sounds like they may have nailed the look.

Nugget one. Thor?s rumoured cameo in Iron Man 2 may have been confirmed. We already showed a screen capture from an online featurette that appears to show Chris Hemsworth as the mighty hammer man, holed up in a humble Earth prison. Today, Comic Book Movie are sharing some tweets from ? Branding Consultant and Creative Director? Gregory Littley in support of the rumour. Here?s the important one:

Press shots should hit the ?net RIGHT around the timing/release of IRONMAN2. PS. It is THOR in the IRONMAN@ trailer.

Some circumstances make me doubt this a little. For one thing, the supposed Thor appearance is not in the trailer but a featurette, and then, when asked if he meant said featurette, Littley worded his response in a ducking, diving noncommittal fashion.

Thor director Kenneth Branagh recently took time out of filming to take part in an interview with Hero Complex. In the interview he spoke about combining the modern world with Asgard on-screen, debunked talk that Sir Anthony Hopkins was being difficult on set, and praised the cast. Kevin Feige also mentioned that there will be some surprises in Iron Man 2 that set up an unexpected bond to Captain America.

?It?s going very, very well,? Branagh said Wednesday. ?We?re in New Meixco now where we have a contemporary Earth part of our story. I guess we?re two-thirds of the way through the story and at this stage of the game what?s surprising and delighting me is the way the cast, the ensemble, has fused together. It?s kind of an interesting combination of very young and very experienced people and the double-up of that, it seems to me, is there is a lot of fire in the movie. It doesn?t take itself too seriously, it doesn?t try to be too solemn.?

Iron Man and Thor Branagh made a point to praise Hopkins as ?an extraordinary actor with his Celtic passion and incredible technique? and said he has been a binding force for the film on the set and will do the same on the screen. The cast that plays Asgard?s royal family are ?people who can embody larger-than-life characters but retain at the center a natural, recognizable, human dynamic ? and these people run the universe.?

No word yet on when we will get our first look at Thor. I assume most of the ?money shots? will involve Godly duels, so it will be a while before the effects are trailer worthy.

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Stellen Skarsgard, Kat Dennings and will be released on May 6th 2011.

Branding consultant Gregory Littley has revealed on twitter that the first official production photos from Marvel?s Thor will hit on May 5th. But you won?t have to wait until then to see a glimpse at Asgard and the warriors of that world. Over the next few weeks we can expect to see ?the release of intense concept art.? Could a movie trailer be far off?

Also, Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 5th. Might we expect a Thor teaser trailer to be attached to that other Marvel adaptation?

Stan Lee?s THOR Cameo is revealed

As you know Stan Lee makes a cameo in most of Marvel?s films. It?s a tradition, and he always seems to be so incredibly thrilled to jump on in the movies of the stories he helped create. So who could Stan Lee possibly play in the Thor movie? The secret has been uncovered.

According to an insider on the set of the movie being directed by Kenneth Branagh, here is what he will be doing: Spoiler Alert:

Thor's hammer ( Mjolnir ) is found lying inside a crater in the middle of the road by the U.S. Army. The army tries to move it but can't because it's too heavy. They decide to bring in a truck for assistance. The soldiers tie Thor's hammer to the back of the truck with chains. The truck driver accelerates to pull Mjohnir. The back half of the truck falls apart as the front keeps moving. Finally, the camera cuts to the driver who happens to be comic legend Stan Lee.

Today I have for you a cool pic that our spy sent us.

The photo you see below is THE DESTROYER!

As per my source, THE DESTROYER is sent to earth by Loki to destroy Thor. It stands at about 9 feet tall.

The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, and when it first appeared it was hinted that the Destroyer had been created as a weapon to face some dark menace from the stars. The Destroyer is used by Thor's arch-foe Loki on several occasions, and each time has actually come close to killing Thor.

In other Thor news, Comic Book Movies has read the opening scene from the movie's script, and here's the gist.

The film begins with a "booming" voiceover, describing the many planets of Thor's realm. The three Norse spirits narrate each planet as it comes into focus, along with important characters like Ymir the Frost Giant. After sweeping over many planets, the camera finally focuses in on Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Gaea giving birth to baby Thor. Cut to black, and then an older Thor (Chris Hemsworth), his adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Fandral (Joshua Dallas), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano), Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) and Balder are all riding their horses.

They have been tasked on a mission to find Ivaldi, the Dwarf king of Svartalfheim. As they ride to the passageway between realms, we see a giant forge and three blacksmiths at work. They are creating the mighty Mjolnir, to present to Thor upon his arrival...

To read the beginning of the script in much lengthier detail, check out Comic Book Movie.

The Marvel Movies Facebook page has a shot of a model of The Destroyer from the upcoming Thor movie. This confirms the scoop we ran in late April showing what the Destroyer would look like. The image was then removed a bit later at the request of Paramount. But this shot confirms our spy pic.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, ?Thor,? which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It?s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
