In the Marvel tradition, there has to be a cameo appearance after the credits. And it looks like it will be Jeremy Renner?s Hawkeye.

An unidentified source who has seen an early cut of ?Thor? told TheWrap that Renner?s Hawkeye appears in the film, but declined any further details regarding this cameo.

The same source also confirmed Samuel L. Jackson?s Nick Fury does not appear in ?Thor.?

In an earlier interview with MTV, Renner believed he will not wear the Hawkeye?s classic purple costume for ?The Avengers.?

?I think it?s going to be a little more reality-based,? said Renner in September. ?You can kind of tell with Scarlett [Johansson]?s character in [in ?Iron Man 2?], it?s going to be more of a uniform?and not a big purple, comics sort of thing.?

Kenneth Branagh-directed ?Thor? will open in theaters on May 6, 2011. It is starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins.

For ?The Avengers,? the film will be in production next year with Joss Whedon at the helm. It is slated for May 4, 2012.

But.. that's the Black Widow's main costume.. that's just so weird if I see Hawkeye in a S.H.I.E.L.D costume.

I think Hawkeye's costume already lends itself pretty well to reality. Sticky tape his eye flaps to his head and make it part of the helmet design and you're set.

I think they'd be more likely to stick to an Ultimates look for Hawkeye. Especially based on what he said. And I mean, they've taken cues from The Ultimates anyway. Samuel L. Jackson as Fury was established in the Ultimates comic. They used his likeness after all.
