I've noticed the tabs in the Gnome version are much larger than the Tango version, too large in fact.

Also, an example of one the icon that is not Gnome, here:

Other than that, it's already shaping up to be a nice theme (Y) .

Woah, it doesn't happen in the Tango version? Would be quite strange as I copied the .css file in both themes. Anyway, I'll try to fix it this evening as I'm at university right now.

Actually, that's a comparison between SooperDude's theme :p . But the Tango tabs seem smaller in mine. I would also like to point out that the loading animation uses the Firefox version for both Tango and Gnome. Also, somehow the whole page is slightly small. I can't explain it, it's just the border for Firefox has gain a bit of padding. I'm not sure if it is an issue on my computer or others have it as well.

The theme is slowly getting there to becoming a good compliment to to Tango and Gnome desks (Y) .

I'm working on the tabs now, already made them look better, but not perfect (aka smaller).

The firefox border bug is already fixed in my version but I wanted the tabs to be completed before release.

Thanks for pointing out all these bugs (goes out to everyone here :D)

Yeah I noticed that border bug on my xp machine using the royale vista 2 theme and am using the version with non-native tabs in the mean time, can't wait for the new version :)

  • 2 weeks later...

It's gone quiet around here :p . How's the update coming up, MrFuji? I hope you've managed to solve any issues encountered with the skin such as the loading animation and such. Also, I want to point out that the Bookmark icon uses the default Firefox icon. That said, take your time as RC2 has just been released and it's not really that important. Better to wait for the final release and iron out all the issues.

Firefox final is approaching :)

Unfortunately, I'm quite busy with exams now so I don't have much time to work on the theme. Probably, I will release a bugfix release next week and then a completely new theme (most likely Discovery, I use it myself in linux :p) in July.

Hey MrFuji, may I make my own adjustments to your theme?

Also do you know how to add icons to menu items?

Sure, no problem. It's all open source, you know ;) As for the menu icons, I haven't really tried it myself yet but you could have a look at sooperdoode's tango theme or the bookmark menu part in browser.css

Really hope I get to work on the theme - I don't want to learn :p

Me again.

Also, I want to point out that the Bookmark icon uses the default Firefox icon.

You mean the star, don't you? It's the icon from the official firefox 3 theme in linux. Compare:

post-165530-1213804983.png = Tango

post-165530-1213804990.png = XP

Anyway, I'm changing the loading animation right now, and there will be native tabs in XP and Vista. Expect a new release this evening :)

MrFuji,

Thank you for a great looking set of themes. I almost reverted back to FF2 after realizing there were no FF3 tango or gnome themes available yet; that is, until I saw yours.

I only have one request: t-a-n-g-e-r-i-n-e.

Keep up the good work sir! Hope everything went well with your finals.

Well, and again ;)

Tango: post-165530-1213809126.png

XP: post-165530-1213809135.png

I've attached a small note to the first post on why some icons are neither Tango nor Gnome, I hope you understand and I bet you get used to these :)

Wow, I never realised that :o . It certainly looks different from the previous bookmark icons, though I guess it's for the better if they hope to make it fit. Somehow though, I preferred the old icon better but I guess I just get use to it.

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.

    • Not sure what country you’re in but in many countries you can absolutely jail the sellers behind businesses… in fact I’d say in most countries you can do that
