You sure had a great time there (Y) thanks for the pictures.

Any information about upcoming products? Nikon D3x etc?

Being a Canon man I?m totally out of the loop when it comes to Nikon but I did go and see the stall, they had some of there big lens?s of display for you to see look and touch then underneath that they had a ?low light room? the guy in there put a couple of different models of Nikon DSLR in my hand and got me to take some pics of a really low light set, It was a blacked out room with dark black walls then they had a small bedside lamp with some staged items like chairs and pillows around it.

He had the first camera set at some crazy ISO like 3200 and I was pretty amazed with the result I had my 40D around me and he joked I dare you to do the same without using your flash (had my 430EX on the top)

Then he put a second model in my hand and I had another go this second one had a brand new lens just out? Sorry forgot the model numbers so much info flying around during the day.

Is PMA Australia the same as the one held in Las Vegas around March?

Too bad Photokina is all the way in Germany--supposed to be some big announcements there.

I really don?t know it was big but at the same time not that big I?d guess the one over in Vegas should be quite a bit bigger with more announcements and product launches this one there was not really any big announcements you just wondered around from stall to stall and talked to the sales reps.

What did Adobe have?

They had constant shows/Demos showing off all the latest products and how to use them we got a show bag with a few demo disks I?ve yet to check them out.

Ok well it?s the next day now I could be there again today as my Exhibitor pass lets me in as much as I want but its open to the public and I think it would be just to busy and pushy yesterday was great being able to talk to the sales reps, Here is a look at my stash from yesterday.

My favorite part of the day was getting to try out some canon lens?s I had a go with several of the 70 ? 200 models I?m in the market for one but still have no idea what model to get as there are quite a few IS non IS F4, F2.8.

It was cool to get a hold of them and see how big they are in real life rather than just read about them on a review website so I had a play with them then we moved onto things like the very expensive EF85mm f/1.2L 2 USM he was very careful when he handed that over to me saying its worth about $6,000 that was nice to have a play with.

I also had a go with the very wide 10-22mm its not until you look through it yourself you realize wow this is really wide I was very impressed and now w:pt one :p

This was a quick shot using the 10-22

For the poster above who asked about Adobe they where showing off the Photoshop express to everybody the presenter was a little worried as he was really doing it live over the internet and as always when you present live to an audience the internet was very slow.

But it was good and we got a free carry bag with Adobe Photoshop light room 2.0 Beta and a Light room 2.0 Tutorials DVD, A pen and a copy of the latest Betta Photo shop magazine.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
