80GB Zune does not hold charge

Is anyone else having this problem? If I charge my Zune to full, disconnect it and put it on hold, and then try to use it 2 or 3 days later the battery is discharged to about 1/4 (indicated). Or, if I use the Zune for maybe an hour or two, then leave it in my bag on hold for about a day when I come back to use it the battery is pretty much empty at that point.

I've had it since January and it seems to have always had this problem. Using the device right off the charger I get more hours of charge then I can use. But this charge seems to be gone after a day or two goes by w/o any use.

I don't like the fact that I have to leave this thing on the charger when I'm not using it. If I forget to charge it the night before, oh well..looks like I won't be listening to music for that long. I knew the Zune has poor battery life compared to the iPod but its inability to hold charge is kinda getting on my nerves now.

I'll try resetting the device, darkmanx21. The device is fully shutting off when I have it in "HOLD" for extended lengths of time, so I would think that the battery would last longer. I'll try an experiment tonight to get some real numbers. If I charge it up tonight, for instance, and then leave it off the charger, on HOLD, and not in use over the rest of the weekend the battery will be dead on Monday.... :( if it is I'll try and RMA it. How long is Microsoft's warranty for? I've had it for a little less then 6 months.

Not sure who you bought it from, but can you get a warranty (extended) still? I got one just for that sole reason because I knew it would have problems and then I wouldn't have to worry about. I would think the warranty is a year, so I think you are good no matter what. Cheers. Maybe it's just acting up on Friday the 13th. LOL.
