I like the two monitors! Are u running OS X?

He's running Windows XP with a OS X-like skin - look at the max/min/close buttons of the iTunes window.

That's one very nice setup. How much you spent on it ??

thank you but c'mon I not going to answer that...

Jeez, that is so nice. Is that running at 2560x1600? How much did that cost?!

no.. it's native res is 1920x1080... everything looks crisp and clear as well as the text

Too clean. This looks like a desk that's there for display only, not something that's actually used for anything. :-p

it gets plenty of use... I do lots of gaming with it... playing Team Fortress 2 and Portal alot and CSS..... my work gets done at my office... I clean up after myself, I'm not a slob :p

Hey if that rig works for you, good job. You're not enslaved by consumerism. (Y)

I guess not

This machine has held me up pretty well since 98. It can run Photoshop too.

A friend of mine gave me an FX 5200, he told me to just replace that video card already it's dirt old.

I mean my S3 Virge works great as a display adapter for 4MB, I'm just not sure if 32MB of DDR Memory is going to accelerate anything for just photo editing and web browsing..

It's okay, my dad is using something like that too and he absolutely refuses to upgrade; you're not alone. :p

What's he running on?

In any case,

I'll just post the bare components and not the actual box(a little banged up )

I'll put in that 5200 while I'm at it just for kicks.

My dad's running a 350MHz Pentium II (not sure what the codename for the core is)

with 320MB RAM (256MB+64MB) and ATI Rage 8MB graphics.

But he doesn't do much with that computer anymore, my mom mostly uses it for checking email now so it's perfectly fine not to upgrade :p

Hi guys, this is my first post in this thread :)

- ASUS V2-PH1 Barebone

- Intel Pemtium D 945 Presler 3.4GHz w/ replacement Cooler Master heatsink/fan

- Maxtor 160GB SATAII + Maxtor 300GB SATAII

- 2GB Corsair PC2-5300 DDR2 (dual channel)

- Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

- XFX GeForce 6800XT

- Viewsonic VX922 2ms

- MS Laser Mouse 6000

- Cheap-ass keyboard

- Logitech Z4 2.1 speaker set

Rather old by today's standards, but it hasn't let me down yet. It runs very quiet considering the Pentuim D procs run rather hot, as does the 6800XT. I'd like to replace the video card a passive cooled one, though. The monitor was kind of expensive for a 19" when I bought it, but looking back it was a good choice.

Tinkered with my setup a bit today, moved my 360 down and to the left off my PC and setup a second monitor:

The Lava lamp on the dvd hutch was just turned on when I took the pic.. but ..

I like the setup ... :D

Whatcha all think?

Hey man, nice Japanese wave wallpaper, where'd you find it?

thank you but c'mon I not going to answer that...

It's not a matter of cleaning after yourself, but rather, putting everything away when you're in the middle of something and need to put it down to continue later.

But I guess if you're mostly just gaming on this machine, it's not like you need to bring out tons of stuff. If I had to put away all the folders, papers and reference books on my desk every evening, then I'd be wasting a lot of time trying to find everything the next morning (I work from home).

I like it... Clean and minimal. (Y)
