Updates Installed programs. (windows likes to keep copies of msi files if needed for repairs.) Driver Cache- Restore Points. That is probably a few reasons the size increased. CrashG
Entire C: drive is 15.2Gb (used space) Just the Windows folder is 10.3Gb (Vista Ultimate x86 + SP1 and updates)

Who cares, I have a 200 GB primary partition.

CrashG
mine is 12.8GB, and i think its well worth it. Vista is amazing. My c drive has 147GB used space, so my lovely vista isnt takin hardly any of it up itself. I have 34.9Gb for the C: partition. and even with all my apps and what not, it's only 44% full. I agree, Vista is pretty sweet. :)
Raa
Too bloody big!! I've heard a lot of complaints about this. It's just an operating system FFS. I remember when I did a W2K install, was around 1.2gb, XP was ~2gb I think. How things change, not always for the better :(

How things change, not always for the better :( Still bashing Vista I see. There are a lot of programs that have been added, so there is no need for 3'rd party software, and various other things that take up more space. I'm not using much more space than I did on a similar XP Pro setup on this same machine. I'll say that Dreamscene is most of my added space usage. kl33per
16.1 GB on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 (x64, English, No Language Packs). It was installed from a disc with SP1 integrated, so there are no SP1 backup files. Edited July 3, 2008 by kl33per
