HardWare Morph models, they're a separate set of models with high quality facial animations (similar to the "Meet The *" videos)

cp_dustbowl0017.jpg

They can run on hardware or in software, they're only called "hardware morph" since they're more resource intensive than the standard models, so they're only enabled by default if you have a matching ATI card. You can enable them via these 2 cvars (whack them in config.cfg or autoexec.cfg)

mp_usehwmmodels "1"
mp_usehwmvcds "1"

And what ATI video cards are required?

Really sub-par ? Runs fine for me even with everything on max and 16AA and 16AF @ 2560x1600

Yep. I'd say sub-par fits. Take a prettier game such as UT3, i get about double the fps than i've ever seen in tf2 when there's any players in the map. In fact, most other games that look better than tf2 still run better than it does, Even after the dualcore update(though that update did help a bit).

No idea, wouldn't mind more voice taunts though, the current ones are getting stale.

I would love for them to fix the HWM models though (The pyro "holds" the intel at his feet)

Oh, so it's that which causes people to run with intels stuck to their feet.

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone new when the next patch for TF2 was going to be available, this would be the one which includes the new sniper pack etc.

Probably a few more months before the sniper update (at the least).....there should be another update coming before that though that has "new content for all classes"......no clue when thats due out.

Ah cool thank you for that :)

I have been reading around everywhere to find some lead on when the release date might be and there is nothing out there... :(

Everything just says the same thing and its not ever informing.

However im very keen for the "new content for all classes"

Kinda getting board of just not having anything to work for when playing... Its a great game none the less, I just like to have that little thing in the back of my head telling me that when I kill someone that its going towards something ;)

Just don't get your hopes up, Vavle are notoriously bad at time keeping, but they make up for it in quality usually.

New Update

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Game Changes

β– Reworked the character loadout screens to support future features

β– Added the ability for players to permanently delete items from their inventory using the new Backpack menu. This does not reset achievements. Once an item has been deleted it can never be re-earned

β– Added the ability for players to reset their player stats using the Reset Stats button on the Stats menu. This does not reset achievements

β– Added a "player_teleported" game event that is sent when a player is teleported

β– Updated cp_junction_final to score per-capture instead of per-round. This fixes the map not working correctly with Tournament mode and the stopwatch

β– Scouts now drop the flag if they're carrying it when they start phasing

Fixes

β– Fixed instances where Steam connection problems would cause some unlocked items to be unusable

β– Fixed the custom crosshair menu not clearing itself when "None" is selected for non-English clients

β– Fixed warning about not being able to execute skill1.cfg when starting the dedicated server

Yes! Now I can reset my stats.

I've got 200+ kills as an Engineer because I was messing around on a map with cheats off :(

Edit: Calling it now, the head section is for hats (The best feature of Fallout 3 IMO), the hats will provide certain benefits, and the first one will be released with the Spy update, a bowler hat. It'll give the spy +2 Perception and +5 Agility.

That would be nice to have hats that gave bonuses....lets say the engineers default hardhat reduces stun duration by 50% but reduces FoV........the scout could have a batters helmet that also reduces stun duration by 50% and also reduces FoV....similar style hats for each class. I'm sort of hoping they add hats in just for astetic values, it would be nice to make your character stand out from all the rest of the classes so someone see's you at a distance, knows your good, so they steer clear of you....but this could bring up the issue of being able to identify enemy players (would it really be bad to be able to identify them without being a spy though?).

I'm a bit weary about all these changes tbh.

Btw, does resetting your stats reset the time you've spent playing too, or just the points/kills/etc?

Yea, resetting stats resets EVERYTHING except achievements. That includes play time as well. So no, tnx.

And, yea, it makes me a bit weary as well, although i try not to think about it and hold all my final thoughts till afters it fully implemented, as it can go both ways - awesomeness or the other.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
