Earlier this year, Valve admitted that its own hardware lineup is going through stock issues due to the global component crisis. This caused the popular Steam Deck handheld to go out of stock frequently across all supported markets. Valve has now managed to resolve this issue with new batches of products. However, this also means new prices have been attached to them.
Heading to the Steam Deck product page, Steam users will see that the previously available Steam Deck OLED 512GB and 1TB versions now cost significantly more, with prices going up by over 40%.
| Model | Old Price | New Price | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam Deck OLED 512GB | $549 | $789 | +$240 |
| Steam Deck OLED 1TB | $649 | $949 | +$300 |
"Steam Deck OLED is back in stock, with a price increase for both models due to rising memory and storage costs," explains Valve in a Steam blog post today. "Steam Deck itself hasn't changed; these new prices reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistical challenges across the industry as a whole. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes."
Here are all the new prices in affected regions:
- Steam Deck OLED 512GB: Now $789 USD | CAD 1,129 | EUR 779 | GBP 649 | AUD 1,199 | PLN 3,279
- Steam Deck OLED 1TB: Now $949 USD | CAD 1,349 | EUR 919 | GBP 779 | AUD 1,429 | PLN 3,879
This isn't the only price bump the Steam Deck has received since its launch in 2022. Back in 2025, Valve discontinued the original LCD 256GB model entirely, making the OLED the new entry-level option starting at $550.
Valve's Steam Deck price increase is arriving just as major console makers like Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo are also bumping up their hardware costs for consumers. We will have to wait and see how Valve manages the launch of its next lineup of products, too. It is yet to announce a release date for the Steam Machine and the Steam Frame, which are said to be going through their own parts shortages.
