I thought I start playing it again as it's been a while so I load it up. First thing I've noticed, it says I need Steam Beta client to find servers. A hop to Steam forums, restart Steam and log in/log out, and all seems to be working fine. Until I saw my stats for Pyromania, which was 0! I had already reached 800,000+ and somehow I've lost all of it! The same thing happened with my Medic where it's reset back to 0! I got so fed up I quit, it's disappointing as I've accumulated quite a lot of gaming hours to reach that point.

So now I'm sad as a monkey, maybe even sadder :( .

Aren't points exclusive to the servers you're playing on?

Did you lose any weapons? It's not that much of a big deal if you just lost the achievements but still have the weapons, it's not like the achievement effects gameplay.

Aren't points exclusive to the servers you're playing on?

Nope, you could collect 1 kill per server and it would still tally up.

Why did you need the Steam Beta? I don't need it to play (I've enabled the SDK Beta, but that shouldn't matter)

I don't know why. It just said I needed it to play so I restarted and installed it. I've checked on the forums and it says it happens when your copy is pirated, but as everyone else here knows, my copy is original  .

Didn't even know you get get a pirated copy to work online :\ It could be the steam beta messing up those achievements for you, try turning it off and trying the game again, if that doesn't work then I don't know.

Have you actually lost anything other than achievements? Such as weapons tied to the achievements?

My weapons seem to be there, but I've somehow lost all my stats. Not that it mattered anyway, it was always skewered to begin with when I went into an achievement server.

I don't. Their empty(or nearly empty), fake player count servers would always get in the way of finding the servers that actually have people in them.

Right click on the server in your serverlist window, and click on "view info", it shows you the players on the server. If it's empty, there won't be any players listed. Usually it's really full in the evening.

Btw - new update on tf2 blog - http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2477. And indeed it goes well with doctor who theme tune :D

Haha, it does!

Anyway, it seems like the Sniper Rifle unlockable will be a medium-ranged weapon. It's supposed to encourage the Sniper to move in closer to the enemy. But, he's a frickin' Sniper. Bah! I really hope they don't give the Sniper an assault rifle or something. An automatic sniper rifle would be better.

Oh i already do that, it's pretty much a requirement with every server in this game to do so. Now if only a way existed to filter out fake player count servers..

Join them for x amount of time (when x < 15 mins) then leave. They will get blacklisted if a lot of people do it.

I really don't see the need for the fake player accounts, if anything I would have thought it makes people less likely to play on the servers because they join, find their are no players on it and just get ****ed off.

Hmmm strange, maybe it was a bug when they implemented the option to reset stats, at least you didn't lose unlocked weapons.

Looks like it is actually, I've lost my heavy, scout and spy stats (thank god Scout and Spy aren't my main classes I play, I only got the Spy points because we were on a empty server and I was messing with the only player on the blu team)

I think it is too, which is a bit sad but oh well. Guess I have to start back from scratch. Now though, it seems my achievements aren't moving at all, even though I Pyro damage a lot of people, it's still stuck at 426. Another thing, it says in my profile that I've played Left 4 Dead, but I don't own L4D  .

Any experienced sniper will tell you how irritating it is when your targets keep moving around. The question is how to stop these cheaters from wind-sprinting around like they own the place. And the answer is to pin them to a wall. How? With arrows!

"Now, hold on," you might be thinking. "I'm strong, but no one could throw an arrow that hard." Introducing the Huntsman longbow, which solves that age-old throwing problem.

"Now, hold on," you keep saying. "Aren't bows and arrows primitive and harmless?" Why don't you ask the dinosaurs? Except you can't, because the cavemen bow and arrowed them to death. One headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit, in addition to a bolt-riddled corpse hanging from a wall that's gruesome and funny.

And even if you don't kill them, they'll carry around a certain arrow-shaped something as a living testament to your awesome archery skills and their frankly unawesome dodging skills. Comes with 18 arrows and a one-second charge for full power shots

What an awful concept.

They say it's not a stun, and yet it will 'pin them to a wall'? How is that any different?

Its not a stun....

One headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit, in addition to a bolt-riddled corpse hanging from a wall that's gruesome and funny.
Meaning the headshot kills them AND pins the corpse to the wall. It does not pin a live player to the wall, instead it just leaves arrows sticking out of their body.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
