And...

still no unlocks. I can't be arsed to play more than 3 or 4 hours per day, but I should've had at least had SOMETHING unlocked by now. Two nights and still nothing. Not even duplicates either.

Yeah sometimes its a joke. I played for hours yesterday and didn't receive any unlocks at all, then 5 minutes before I'm going to leave I unlock Jarate...

A lot of the servers haven't updated yet. Anyway, apparently you can "find" weapons now. I was playing 2 minutes ago and someone found the Force-A-Nature. Wow!

I had the samething I found a Force-A-Nature just before and I got Razorback for the sniper... But it seems to be taking ages to find anything

Some people were saying that you can just go spectator and get iteams like that, saying it was a time based thing, but Im not to sure :shiftyninja:

Yeah it definitely seems like a time based thing rather than skill. I think they're more assuming that if you're connected to a server you're playing, rather than idling, so they count that as playing time.

Was going to install this again after not having played it for a while. Think I'll give it a miss.

Sometimes I miss the days of QWTF, where achievements and unlocks weren't needed because the game could stand on it's own, but with saturation in the FPS market I suppose games need stuff like this to keep people playing nowadays.

This update has really made me upset..

I've been playing TF2 for almost 2 days now, and I've gotten only one new unlock, the ****ty dead ringer.

I've also found 2 backburners, 1 flare gun, 1 axtinguisher, 2 nataschas, 1 blutsauger, 1 kritzkrieg. Really makes it nice considering I had every single item unlocked from achievements already. No hats either :(

30+ hours sicne update of playtime and STILL NOTHING NEW.

Many other people have the same problem, this is completely ridiculous.

Valve fails for having us beta test its completely unfinished, nonsensical, and unfair system. Everytime I see someone else running around with a huntsman I come closer to uninstalling this crap.

I was getting tons of dupes but now like the past 13 hours nothing at all even.

That "idle madness" video was funny but sad at the same time. Valve had good intentions with this update but now, we have people leaving their computers running overnight while idling in an achievement_idle server. Anyway, here's a suggestion: play for an hour or two and take a break, then come back for another hour or two. I find that going on and off improves your chances of finding good items like the Jarate or Fancy Fedora (Spy hat).

Dead ringer can be extremely useful when used right. Look up a few youtube videos one how to use it properly.

Thanks for the tips about what class upgrades to choose and tips pages back in this thread! Thanks ViZioN, mwpeck, Minimoose, Anaron etc,

With this latest update, no need to be picky any more, items will come in time. Ah well, only got some spy watch so far and nothing else. Still running around with Pyro which seems to be working for me. Having fun anyway.

Picked this up from my community's forums.

At Toronto's Anime North, there was this:

This is based on what?

Based on it happening to him once. I think the system is as they stated, no hidden secrets to having more chance. Although you might have a small chance each time you enter a server, so some people could try just joining loads of different servers and see if that works :) Here's for wishful thinking.

I played for about 3 hours today and picked up the cloak and dagger and jarate. I picked up the dead ringer a couple days ago. In total I've probably played for about 7 hours since the update, so I guess I'm pretty lucky. 3 items down, 3 more to go.

This is based on what?

My experience. It happened to me twice. Upon 5 minutes of re-joining a server after 1-2 hours of play, I found a Force-A-Nature and Fancy Fedora. The second time, I found a Jarate. It's probably luck, but who knows. Valve said that their system is buggy. Perhaps I could be right, for now.

Twice! :p True, it's most likely luck on my part but who knows (other than Valve). I'd gladly try it out but I simply don't have the time these days. Ah, hopefully Valve will fix the system by the time I can play again.

    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
