First kill count online. Soldiers have a 100K kill lead!

Very glad to see that.....soldier deserves to win the war, this isn't his first war you know. :p

Besides, demo virtually has 2 primary weapons, he doesn't need a 4th unlock.

Anyone notice the number of kills currently outnumbers some small countries in less than 24 hours? Cant wait to see the insane numbers by the end of the week.

oh great just what TF2 needs. Like there isn't already enough spamomen in a regular match!

Yeah, I must agree. 24/7 2fort servers are usually spammy, but this war just makes it much much worse. :p

Good. (Y)

Exactly. Compare the secondary weapons of the soldier and demo. Pipebombs are deadly in quickly wiping out a tight space if they hit someone before bouncing, moreso if they crit. Much more deadly than shotguns, even with the risk of killing its user if not thrown properly.

Anyone else disappointed that todays only update was about the number of kills? This only leaves them 4 days to release 6 weapons, 3 maps (been confirmed, 2 new Valve maps and 1 new community map), 2 classes achievements, 1 winner of the war, and some other "surprises" as the blog calls them.

Now, for the weapons I can see doing 2 a day (one for each class), but that will take 3 days alone, so maybe 2 weapons + new map on each day, with the achievements coming on the last weapon day (day3) and the winner of the war on day 4 along with the other surprises and what not? That would really be stuffing a lot of stuff into each reveal, unless they decided to push the release back from the 17th.

GRRRR!!!! So I decided to play this evening, not knowing that an update is forthcoming. I noticed the new background, but didn't really pay any attention.

I decided to play on a 24/7 2-fort server to play sniper. Of course, as with any of the previous updates, everyone else was either a demo or a soldier so playing sniper was pointless because I was being blown up left and right.

I switched to demoman and killed 40 relatively easy, but it was boring with so much demo and soldier spam, so I switched to being an engie and placed my sentry in a place that wasn't getting any spam, but was killing the other team left and right (it was close to my team's spawn point).

I wasn't really playing, neither was either of the teams. It was pure spamfest. This one guy on my team stops by my sentry and dispenser and starts taunting me that I'm the worst engie in the world and blah blah blah. Instead of even spamming, he just stands there bashing me and I'm actually killing people.

That really put me in a bad mood. It takes a lot to **** me off, but this guy did. I hate these updates. I really, really hate them. They ruin the game for me. I guess I'm done with it for the next month or so until everyone is tired of this bull****.

If Valve didn't tie this **** to contests, wars and pointless achievements it wouldn't be like this.

Oh, I feel like ripping someone's throat out right now

If he really cared and wanted me to move my stuff, that's fine, but all he wanted to do is be an ass.

+125K kills, god damn. :/

Am I the only person that thinks this is a bit unfair, considering the fact that the Soldier is an offensive class? They could easily kill a Demoman from afar.

A demoman can also kill a soldier without standing next to him. Infact, he can also kill him without the soldier even seeing the demo!

+1, demo is one of the only classes in the game that can kill anyone else without even being near him or in sight of him, yes the soldier is better in direct combat than the demo, but demos have a huge advantage in indirect combat.

Soldier has the shotgun, which imho is far too powerful for any of the classes that have them.

One or two rockets + one, possibly two shots with the shotgun and the Demoman is dead. Demoman has to lay out stickies and try to hit directly with the pipe bomb, so it's more broad in an attack area and the Soldier is tougher than any other class besides Heavy, so somewhat less effective.

I don't see Demoman winning this. One map I played on was Soldier vs Demoman, but we were literally pinned on both doors. Demoman can't do that without being highly strategic.

True, but that's only effective if you're being chased by a [insert class here]. Soldiers have the edge in direct long-range combat. The Demoman's versatility only helps in indirect medium-range combat. From my experience, Demomen are good when it comes to defending an area. And Soldiers are good at storming in with rockets flying everywhere. Ever get hit by a crit-rocket while flying through the air? I did, and it sucked. All in all, the Soldier is more suited to direct combat and it's definitely paying off in this "war".

I completely agree with you, but a majority of Valve maps have more medium-range smaller areas than they have long-range open areas. Soldiers definitely have an advantage in close-range combat though, they can get instant splash damage by shooting the ground, whereas demos have to get a direct hit, or delayed splash damage. Stickies are almost not an option in close-range combat, while the shotgun is a very powerful option in that scenario.

Soldier pulls farther ahead by ~219,000 kills!

Crafting comes to TF2!

I am shocked, and leaving it at that because I haven't even read all the details myself yet!

I just (a few weeks ago) started saving up duplicates because someone on my server mentioned him and a few friends who have been building up dupes, were getting hats. Sadly, that doesn't appear to be true, BUT I am glad I started saving them!

Dammit. I've clicked Discard so many times recently due to dupes. I shouldn't have. :pinch:

Yeah, just today i discarded some 4 useless FANs and ubersaws :( Oh well.

But as far as Poopy Joe page goes - seems to have some hints at soldier unlocks. Larate? Fred Astaire rocket launcher? 0.o?

The rocket launcher on that page looks almost identical to the normal rocket launcher, but they do go on to list a mining pick and some other possible melee weapons on the left side of the page.

EDIT: Now, http://www.teamfortress.com/war/part3/index.htm

Take a look to the right of the normal rocket launcher on the chalkboard. You have an outline of something that looks like a longer, larger rocket launcher. It also has an arrow that points to REBUIT = <something, cant read it>

IMO that is a possibility for the look of the soldiers new rocket launcher.

Bah... I knew Soldier would win this. Such an easy class to play with... probably why no one wants the best class to gain a fourth weapon! *shakes fist*

Exactly. :p

I am wondering though, will it be a true 4th weapon, or will it be an unlock for one of the classes already 3 weapon slots?

It will probably be an unlock for a previous slot, adding a 4th slot to either of the classes would be OP unless it was truly a useless weapon.

    • Microsoft's Copilot Cowork now generally available with usage-based billing by Pradeep Viswanathan Back in March, Microsoft first revealed Copilot Cowork, a new agentic AI experience in Microsoft 365 Copilot through which users can assign tasks to AI to complete in the background. After testing the service with a limited set of customers in Research Preview for a few weeks, Microsoft announced the general availability of Copilot Cowork to customers in the Frontier program on March 30. Today, Microsoft announced the general availability of Copilot Cowork worldwide for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers. The company also highlighted that Cowork became the fastest-growing feature in the history of its Frontier program. Unlike regular Copilot Chat, Copilot Cowork can run complex, long-running, multi-tool tasks from start to finish in the cloud by using organizational context through Work IQ. When compared to Claude Cowork, Microsoft claims that Copilot Cowork will be 30% to 40% cheaper on average with its Microsoft 365 connector. For now, Copilot Cowork runs on Anthropic models, including Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6. However, Frontier customers can now use GPT-5.5. Microsoft also announced Cowork 1, a secure fine-tuned model coming in the next few weeks, which is designed to handle everyday Copilot tasks at a lower cost. To access Copilot Cowork, a Microsoft 365 Copilot user subscription is required. Usage is billed separately through Copilot Credits, based on model use, context retrieval, tool calls, and runtime. Pay-as-you-go pricing is set at $0.01 per Copilot Credit. To offer IT teams full control over usage costs, Microsoft provides spending limits, usage alerts, user-level controls, reporting, and prepaid usage plans for organizations. Usage-based billing begins today. However, Frontier customers who used Cowork between March 30 and June 16 will not be billed until July 1, 2026. The Microsoft 365 Copilot app now includes a toggle to enter the full Cowork experience. Microsoft is also adding partner plugins, with Enosix, Harvey, LSEG, Miro, monday.com, Moody’s, Morningstar, S&P Global Energy, and TeamsMaestro available now. Adobe, Atlassian, Box, Canva, Databricks, and others are coming soon.

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
