I wish they would fix the dropped FPS issue with this game. Runs at 140+ fps until i get into a gun fight, then it can drop to even below 20.... There are a lot of people who have this issue. It started with some of the first class update patches and has still to be looked at.

I also feel that the crafting system and item drop system is geared toward those with no life. I have maybe 1 hour to play tf2 a day if that, I haven't had a drop in who knows how long..... Crafting requires many items which seem to take too long to get. When did this become World of Fortress 2?

I agree with you, the system should scale by averaging play time in previous weeks and dropping based off that. So, someone who plays only maybe 10 hours a week gets just as many drops as someone who plays over 20 hours a week.

The problem is it technically would be exploitable, someone could play for an hour or two a week for a few weeks, then play for 20 hours in the following week and get a ton of items. But if they used a sliding window that averaged the times between weeks it would be better to end up playing for those weeks instead of only a couple hours a week then playing a bunch and getting a bunch of items suddenly.

There will always be some exploiting, the real moral question then is should you punish all for a few's actions?

I still love to play the game, but I am sort of downed seeing all the new stuff and having only the old :p I have free time today though, so hopefully I get something

This whole drops/crafting/milestones system is retarded. Why don't they just give us the new content. By the time I have played for hours on end for a few unlocks I dont even want to play the game anymore. They are just making people jump through pointless hoops and ruining it for the more casual players.

Its all so unnecessarily complicated.

Tell you the honest truth...

I used to HATE the demo man..

I've since dedicated almost 2 hours playing the class.

Now, I'm starting to really enjoy it, and understand how to play him fully.. I might actually start making him part of my regular rotation soonish. I love being in the thick of combat.

I agree, I had maybe 2 hours of play time on demo before the update, I just never liked playing as him cause he lacks hitscan weapons. With the sword and shield though its so much more fun. I kinda suck at it still but am getting better. What I do not understand is I landed two melee hits on an engy and he was still at like half health. Granted I had no heads at the time I am fairly sure he wasn't overhealed, there was no medic around and he had no overheal particles, the sword shouldn't be doing bat damage with 0 heads.....

Why can I still not use my unlocks but I see other people using them? Ugggh.

I think it's a problem with the Steam cloud. If you equip the weapon before it goes down you can use it. But you can't change unlocks when its down. Which is a bit annoying because I wanted to go back to the normal rocket launcher but couldn't.

Also, has anyone noticed a problem with the drop system? I've not had a single drop, dupe or otherwise, since the update came out. Quite a few people on my friends list are reporting a similar issue, but I have been seeing some players get them.

Same, not a single drop all day and week really.

I got 2x Eyelanders, Direct Hit, and a few other various dupes first through the random drop system. I currently have 2 Direct Hits and 3 Eyelanders.

That being said, my second eyelander I got earlier today, literally like 20 minutes before I got my second demo milestone which gave me a third eyelander.

So no, no problems with the drop system since the update at all, still getting a few random weps every day.

I also haven't gotten any random drops all weekend. I got 1 huntsman right after the update, but I must've played about 8 hours since then and haven't gotten a single random drop. I got my Eyelander and shield from achievements, but I haven't gotten the Scottish Resistance even though I have the milestone. I also dominated 3 players in a round as soldier but the achievement didn't register :(

I also dominated 3 players in a round as soldier but the achievement didn't register :(

In a round or in a life? The achievement is to get 3 dominations in a single life. Which, while difficult can be really easy. Dominations trigger on the third kill (usually) of the same person, you do not have to kill them 3 times in one life per domination, simply do not let them to be the one to kill you if you die. So if you have killed a bunch of people 2 times or so before without them killing you, its easy to kill them each once more and get a domination for that life.

In a life I meant. When I died I got the message "You've got more dominations than your previous best :3" , and I'm sure I was dominating 3 people, but if I look at my soldier stats now it says "most dominations: 2".

I've also seen an issue since the update that incorrectly reports the number of dominations via the showscores. I was dominating 4 people and could see the domination symbol, but next to my name I only had the 2 dominations medal.

...

Uh, that's normal.

When you're just walking around, you're not rendering much, when you're fighting you're rendering the other players and their effects (rocket trails, explosions, tracers, etc.), as well as quickly moving your view around.

I've also seen an issue since the update that incorrectly reports the number of dominations via the showscores. I was dominating 4 people and could see the domination symbol, but next to my name I only had the 2 dominations medal.

That is an old bug, I have seen myself have 1-2 medals even after people have gotten revenge on me/left the game.

On top of that, I have also see people who are dominating me, have the symbol on the scoreboard, but when I see them in-game they have no nemesis icon above their head. I have no idea that person was the one dominating me until I kill them and get a revenge on them.

Its a highly annoying bug and its been in the game pretty much since they added domination medals to the scoreboard.

As for the performance issues, they are normal in TF2, but not in any other game. I have seen people with an i7 and a HD 5000 series GPU get dips down below 30, while with my i7 and a 4890 on similar settings I get like 60 minimum. TF2 definitely has some nasty performance issues that do not affect everyone but if it does affect you it doesn't matter what hardware you are running. In comparison it can run at 20-30 frames on a computer that can max Crysis out at the same resolution and get a solid 60 FPS.

The issue is simply the game engine is really old and Valve is not willing to drop DX 8 support for TF2 yet. If they do decide to drop DX 8 (which only makes up like 5% of all Steam users) then TF2 may finally get some performance boosts and run well on most machines compared to how it runs right now.

I'm having difficulty getting the pipebagger achievement. I killed 3 people with stickies and it didn't give me the achievement (I thought maybe as one was a crit) then was able to kill another 3 without any crits yet no achievement. Both were in a single detonation. Any ideas anyone?
