Anyone have any crates they want to get rid of if they don't plan on buying keys? I feel like dropping $20 on 8 keys. http://www.tf2items.com/id/giantpotato http://steamcommunity.com/id/giantpotato

If I get 8 I'll post the unboxing results in this thread.

I have a Series 1 and Series 2 crate I am not planning on using, but I will not be online until about 4 more hours when I get home from work.

Theres nothing in your inventory I want, would you be willing to trade a refined metal for both? Or something similar (like 2 reclaimed for both crates)?

i bought it 3pm my time & it states the offer expires at 4pm it didnt say pst , est just 4pm

While my words alone should have been enough to sway you to purchase one of these fine games, the good people at Valve have decided to throw in a little something extra for those of you who currently own or who purchase the game Left 4 Dead 2 by this Thursday at 4pm Pacific Standard Time.

As I mentioned I wasn't positive, but I looked it up after reading your post, it did end at 4pm PST which would be 7pm EST. Not sure what time zone you are in, but as long as you bought it at 3pm in the states then no matter what timezone you are in you bought it in time.

Good drop for me today - Battalions Backup and The Shortstop (up for trade for sth good I don't play Scout much) (in addition to L4D2 items). Still looking for The Powerjack. http://www.tf2items.com/id/inferniac

Nice, I got a Battalions Backup yesterday, but I crafted my only FaN (horribly crummy scout weapon) into the Shortstop a few days after the polycount update and love it (not to mention I have not found ANY scout polycount unlocks since the update, despite 25+ drops).

Anyone ever feel like giving things away? I found an extra GRU last night and gave them to some random person on my regular server last night. :p

If you're connected to Steam (Make sure your friends list is populated in the overlay), you should be getting a drop every 40-70 minutes of game play.

If you're not connected to Steam (which is my problem*), then you won't get any drops.

* I've been having net issues for the last few weeks, so it's not possible for me to play or such, since the update I've accumulated 1 real (4 in total, 3 at once due to a glitch) item drop with 3-4 hours of offline play.

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
