New Bungie Game Incoming?

I absolutely hate that argument, and here is why: If people don't want to play matchmaking, then what does that tell you? So, basically, we should force people to play in one system so it can work properly. You are FORCING a lot of people to give up their freedom to play what they want to into something that they might not want to.

Not only that, but I'll use COD3 as an example. That game had very strong matchmaking. Yet it also had a server browser. So, where's the problem?

That excuse is a solution in search of a problem.

I know about TruSkill. I personally hate ranks. Especially when you lose because members on your team quit or suck. Of course, your rank will go down, even though it's not your fault. I prefer playing without ranks. I also get ****ed that Halo 3 has double-ranking. Not only are you ranked by rank, but you are also ranked by experience. WTF? Then, if you're playing a map that you hate, when you quit, they give you that BS that you will be penalized. Well, **** YOU TOO Bungie! I did not have a choice to be in this map and gametype!

When you have a lousy weapon, while everyone else has a nice weapon, you are going to fail. Battle rifle vs. Assault rifle ususally ends in BR's winning, especially in a large map.

I absolutely despise matchmaking, and it is certainly enough for me to avoid COD 4.

:o

Finally.

Someone else who despises matchmaking as much as I do.

It literally stops me doing a lot of online gaming on consoles. That and TF2 I guess - I'm addicted to it, but match making does put me off a lot. I like to be in control of what map I play, what bunch of people I play with, and most importantly I like to choose the lowest/a low ping server.

Anyway, on topic, I'd actually like for this to be some sorta RTS game. I think the Halo universe could use an RTS, and it would be pretty cool I think (Y)

I think Halo Wars has that genre covered. I'm with the people saying this will be a new IP. I just really don't think that the first game developed by Bungie after divorcing microsoft would be yet another Halo. One of their beefs with MS was having to scrap new IP's to concentrate on Halo. I expect something completely new. Besides, with Wars and Chronicles in development, do we really need another Halo game?

I guess I haven't looked into Halo Wars enough then!

Seeing as it looks to be an RTS, I just owned myself

Now that I know about Halo Wars, I do hope this is a new IP.

Weapon balance in 3 is an improved but it's still unbalanced just nowhere to the degree of previously installments, i've admitted to that already.

While there is a chance for a person to win a close combat battle with AR against BR, it really doesn't happen much. Maybe it's because I only played with MLG people who ###### the **** out of the BR, and when I went in MM, BR in my hands and teammamtes we would win. Don't know how many times i've had and seen BR against 2 AR's and BR wins. It's not as strong as H2 but it's still there. I'm not blaming it on a skill deficiency as when I did play didn't come across many players that were better than I or my team. Haven't played the game in months (if you want check my tag you'll probally see games played, brother and friend use my tag and his to play together), thinking about loading it up tonight to check out Cold Storage, and play with a few friends who are stuck up H3's ass and can't be bothered to play any other game, and then I won't touch it until another friend situation presents itself.

The weapon balance in Halo is fine. Many people think it is unbalanced merely because it is different from every other FPS. Bungie is purposefully promoting closer range combat, so there are few longer range weapons out there. Halo is probably one of the few FPS ever made, if not the only one, to make Close Range Combat somewhat interesting and not just a random occurrence. All the other FPS just throw in a shotgun and melee weapon and then forget about close range combat.

The BR wins because of the player, not because of the weapon. I bet $20 that guy you saw own the two AR users probably used not only his terrain to his advantage, but grenades as well to quickly lower their shields. The BR is a great headshot weapon, but it is definitely no match for two AR users in the AR's best range, let alone one.

If you want to argue experience I can definitely say I have my fair share. 1600 games online, which is well over 400 hours of play. You are making some pretty generalized claims about the functions of the weapons and forgetting the rest of the factors that play into how a weapon is used. I constantly destroy BR users with an AR, PR and any other close range weapon because like you they assume the BR = victory off the bat.

lol. Your funny.

I'm not disputing the AR can't be used at close distance. I'm disputing that the BR is imbalanced, since it can effeictly kill at long rage and short range. So ya, you kinda went off the track there.

Don't get mad because I'm stating my opinion that your beloved game isn't as good as people make it seem to be.

By your definition the BR is unbalanced. Any weapon that can guaranteed dominate more than one area of play is overpowered. The BR isn't overpowered because like every other weapon it only dominates in one area without he assistance of other weapons or players.

Thank you! It's so annoying when people are told that they suck when they are showing some criticism towards Halo.

And what you said about the AR vs. BR is on the dot accurate. Statistically, you are not in a good position when fighting someone with a BR when you have an AR. It doesn't mean you can't defeat the guy with the BR...

And the only reason it went off topic, is because Ruiz had to resort to a personal attack (you said you) instead of coming up with an logical insightful arguement, like you do 98% of the time Magik (i only shaved 2 off, cause I can't read all your posts). I'll debate it all day, but when you resort to personal attacks it's childish and shows your maturity level, but hey its the internet.

He didn't say he sucked, he said something a bit different. If you can't kill with a weapon, it isn't because the weapon sucks but because you don't know how to use it. Nothing bashing about it, it is true. I personally suck with the shotgun. That doesn't mean I suck at the game, just the shotgun. Don't overreact or read to deeply into comments. Maybe this reply would be necessary if he said flat out, "it is because you suck at Halo". But he didn't.

Wow, excellent post. Couldn't have said it better myself! (Y)

But, alas, you will always get the haters that will cry "oh, boo hoo, you're just crying because I make the fun of precious halo!! lolzz!!11 I wyn!!"

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
