Killzone 2

Doh! lol Okay not quite so much of a rush to get it now then if it's that short.

But what was it actually like for those 5 minutes? :D

I like it a lot - it's quite hard, tho this difficulty setting is not for me.,... I can run and gun through it...

yet the feel is very epic

i think i need to play with sensitivity settings, its very sluggish as standard...
I thought so too, turning is very slow, yet, when aiming you need it that slow... at least I do... I personally have the X sensitivity 2 steps up and Y just 1... quicker and it feels better when turning, yet I constantly overshoot my target when turning to it...

Played through the demo twice now, first time took me a bit under eleven minutes with 1 death (friggin' turrets...), 2nd pass no deaths and 6 min 23 sec.

Oh I have definitely found my new baby, it's so much like Rainbow Six: Vegas in terms of the very slow paced gameplay, slow 'aiming' and endless possibilities for tactical games without hyper kids rushing around. Visuals are definitely some of the best I've seen on a console and I can't wait to see some more (Y) This just has potential to be an epic multiplayer game with that cover system and slow paced movement - I freakin' love it. As for negative points in the demo, bit too short and the bass being seriously messed up, the sound experience was SO flat due to having sound come through my stereo speakers :/ So they better fix that for the retail version, I'd also like to either see customizable controls or more control schemes. Is it too much to ask to be able to aim on L2 and crouch on the left analogue button?

But the messed up surround sound is definitely my main gripe - Awesome demo though, going to give it another bash - Excuse me >.>

Sethos; The cover system isn't in the multiplayer part of the game. So it will be slightly different gameplaywise, however I still think it will be relatively slow paced indeed.

Now that you mention R6V, indeed, I have to agree, it was the first game I bought for my PS3 and I played it endlessly, great great multiplayer and I loved the fact that it was slow and relatively tactical. By the way the SP of KZ2 feels I have to agree, the speed is somewhat the same and I just hope this translates into the MP as well... Kind of sad that there isn't a cover system, but crouching behind walls will do the same trick... like back in the old day - when we didn't have cover systems :p

Wait wait wait wait .... No cover system in MP?! Fail fail and ****ing fail!

Nah, I still like it, just disappointed :p
Guerilla actually had it in the beta at first (or so I read), but due to the level design and people being shot in the back too much and complaining they pulled it and favored crouching behind obstacles. Apparently it worked better according to the testers...

Ditto, although the biggest fail for me is literally having to use the right stick to zoom. Its horrible. I can live with "arcade" killing and using more bullets, the visuals are good enough obviously and I don't mind the sound or check point pauses. But the fricking controls, arghhhh, so annoyed honestly. Made twice as bad cause of the DS3 itself to begin with.

Change the control setting. Im using Alt 2.

Demo looks awesome. Better than the last beta. :)

I want to have zoom mapped to L2 and there isn't a control scheme with that. The closest to it is L1 and then the rest of the controls are screwed up if you decide to use that.

I "settled" on Standard 2 controls. Still awful :(

L2? that is a bad button to zoom hehe

Alt 2 is perfect for me :D. I play pretty much all FPS like Alt 2, maybe crouch on the circle but no big deal.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.
