Killzone 2

What's the deal with the "3D" loading menus people have mentioned?

Cool effect or something?

The loading screens move in six axes, with your sixaxis of course :p It looks like a flat image, but when you move it you'll see that it's actually a rather flat 3D model which gives you some depth when you move around... It looks quite nice if you ask me, was pleasantly surprised.

edit; Zoom on L2 O_o NEVER. Zoon om L1 and melee on R3 is perfect. For any FPS I require zoom in L1, melee on R3, sprint on L3, the rest I can manage when it differs from game to game...

86%, looking forward to how this sounds out my new sound system.

I'll tell you if it's bass heavy for me Sethos. But if the demo has True HD [uncompressed audio], I'll be running in that instead of Dolby Digital.

ps. Word is Gamestop codes are active now for all your Americans!

Want me to start listing the games which have zoom either mapped to L2 (left trigger for 360) or left stick by default? :p

They choose it for a reason :yes:

Want me to start listing the games which have zoom either mapped to L2 (left trigger for 360) or left stick by default? :p
It's a preference :p On PS3 games I prefer L1... on Xbox games, I have to agree with you, the trigger works out better, however I only have a PS3 and need to play 360 at a friends place... so my preference comes basically from my only option.

Ok well then it's not "never" then is it ;)

Left trigger and L2 are definitely better (Y) Not pushing my opinion down your throat, don't get me wrong, but there is far more games out there with this scheme and its the reason why. Fair enough if you prefer other controls. In fact, the only other game I've played which doesn't use L2 on PS3 is Resistance 1 and 2 and its the first thing I changed :laugh:

I might have adjusted to zoom on L1, but because the rest of the controls are screwed with Alternate 2, there's no chance I'd use it.

Damn that demo was a real tease [short].

But damn it is looking good. I love the weighty feel to most things. I played through the demo with the default controls relatively easy :laugh: Dunno if I'd want aim as L3 in MP though, you don't have as much time in MP as SP, but I'll give it a try.

By the way, it sounds like the ###### through my sound system :drool:

Totally confused and in all wrong way what you say here, please tell what you mean. (if it will be legal here :p )

Ahaha just using slang.

It sounds really awesome through my sound system :p

What do you have for a sound system?

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-s...d-kit/ht-ss1300

Supports PCM over HDMI, so the PS3 decodes True HD and passes that to the sound system.

Alternative 2 will be good for MP [as there's no 1st person cover mode].

However in SP, it's quite difficult to zoom when you're in 1st person cover mode with crouch being L2 and zoom L1 [in alternative 2].

Much easier with zoom on R3 for that.

Think that's probably why it's setup as default the way it is, zoom is quite essential.

edit: Well it's much easier if you use your middle finger on crouch, but I tend to swap between L1/L2 with my index :p So it's probably just difficult for me.

Ok well then it's not "never" then is it ;)
I think my sarcasm didn't come across as well as it would've when I had written "NEVAR!!`1~", granted though, I was not that clear on that.

Also; as far as I know, most PS2/PS3 games used the L1 for aiming - I went ahead and took a quick shot of the controls in the booklet for Call of Duty 4 for PS3 - it is listed as L1 for aiming down the sights. You yourself also specified R:FOM1 and R2 :p

Anyhow, we have established that both of us have different preferences and please don't take this wrong and think I'm purely being smartass now, I just had to check for myself and thought I'd report.

At the end of the day everyone's supposed to play the game they like and it all comes down to having fun while doing so ^_^

edit; AB, I think you're right on that - while I don't like not having melee on R3, the Alt 2 scheme is quite hard on SP because of the covering. I'll probably do as you do... hadn't thought of that :p

Wow, pretty impressed so far. The graphics are phenomenal, especially the smoke effects from explosions. Controls take a little getting used to though.

Anyone else notice if you grenade the soldier up on top of the of the warehouse office in the trench coat he drops a rifle you can use? He's the only soldier carrying the weapon from what I could tell (doesn't have much ammo though).

Overall I'm very happy. :)

yeah I use middle finger on L2 and index on L1. No problem with crouch L2 and zoom with L1

:laugh: the Helghast say some funny things

Oooo gotta try getting that gun.

Now I just want the full game, the demo we got has the same clip of level we've been seeing from about E32007 :laugh:

Seems the only ones enjoying the controls are those who don't play FPS regularly on consoles :p (N)

Seems the only one constantly complaining about the controls is.... you :p

7 posts now, well 8 counting this one ;)

I don't understand what your problems are. The surround sound isn't messed up, it sounds fine for me. The controls are better on alt 2, I have no problem with them. I beat the demo first time with the standard controls and then played again on alt 2 as I kept pressing the melee attack button.

EDIT: Also, who presses L2 with their pointing finger :rofl:

Seems the only one constantly complaining about the controls is.... you :p

Actually Sethos did as well on MSN :p Besides the point, I can complain all I like thanks (Y)

@Sniper, I don't use my index finger for L2.

L1 = index - grenade / alt grenade

L2 = middle - zoom

R1 = index - not all that important, can be used for lots of things or alt grenade

R2 = middle - primary fire

Perfect (Y)

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
