wow, this thread took a turn since I checked. Fortunately there are members that want to talk gaming instead of bickering like 5 year olds in the playground. If you're not gonna post about the original topic, don't bother. I hate making myself sound like a moderator, as I'm obviously not, but I believe I speak for the majority in that we are sick of this.

Is PU the beta program or is it just the US online account stuff? I get a little confused about it, as I also have a login for the US playstation site.

I think it might just actually be through signing up on the PS website? :/

http://www.us.playstation.com/MyAccount has a logo to the left of my name that says "Playstation Undergound" ?

<snip>

Or even better, anyone like an official/previous beta tester for Sony?

*Raises Hand*

Have been since April 2003 when they needed testers for the Network Adapter for PS2 & Socom. Have been informed a new Beta is on the horizon and should hear shorlty what it is.

Also Gav is one too.

I think LBP will easily be my GOTY for the PS3. MGS4 was great but it had a lot of flaws imo, things which have been present in MGS for a long time now, but there isn't one thing I can say bad about LBP and it just looks like so much damn fun.

Some more tidbits,

1) you can plant whiteboards in your level for text..for telling stories etc. The editor suggests readers get together with him to recreate the Illiad in LBP :p

2) signposts can indicate if bonus areas in a level are accessible only to 2+ players

3) Levels are about 200-400KB in size (although this will probably vary if you import more PSEye pics etc.)

4) Sackboy suicide (:o) - while constructing, if you get stuck or whatever or want to respawn at the last save point you can suicide. Sackboy will hold his breath until he pops in a puff of fabric and stitches.

5) If you find something offensive in a level you can zoom in a tag it as 'grief'. The level will immediately be made inaccessible from the public, and flagged for attention from moderators who will make a decision it. Only one person needs to do flag a level, but if they abuse the system and consistently flag levels inappropriately, they can have that ability taken away. Moderators can also bump good levels for more exposure.

Lol for a second I thought I spoke too soon and found something I don't like and we'd see a lot of idiots flagging every level. Very happy they will take the ability away from users who abuse it though

Yeah in a way from a parental/abusive view, blocking the level right away is indeed effective - Nothing would be worse for the news press if levels were flagged but remained playable for weeks/days without being looked into.

You'd get from Fox News - "Animal porn allowed to be played in LBP for a week".

But obviously that can be abused, so punishing people for abusing is a must.

Idiots exist everywhere, especially online - You can just see people trying to grief others by blocking their levels from play with false reporting.

Guys don't forget we can be in a level together and create and test at the same time and I assume voice chat would be working too.

Yeah voice chat works.

Alex Evans even said voice chat is lip synced to your Sackboy!

Man this just keeps sounding better and better.

You lot probably know about this already, but I just found this stuff...

BETA FAQ FOR THE PLAYSTATION®3 COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

=================================================================

We appreciate your interest in participating in our beta program(s) for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. To address some of the most commonly asked questions regarding the beta program for the PLAYSTATION®3 system, we have provided the following list of questions and answers for you below:

1. Question: How do I become considered for beta tests for the PLAYSTATION®3 system?

Answer: To be considered for a Beta for the PLAYSTATION®3 system, the user must be at least 18 years old with a valid PLAYSTATION®Network account. We receive many more registrations for a Beta test than we can responsibly accept, so users are selected such that we have a desired weighting of different geographic, demographic, internet usage, and game play variables as required by that particular game's beta testing goals.

2. Question: To become a beta user for the PLAYSTATION®3 system, is a user required to have an existing PlayStation® Underground account (use an email address from the PSU)?

Answer: The user does not need to have a PSU account at first, but they will end up with one. By the time a user is accepted to a Beta, and logs in to PlayStation.com to access the forums and Beta Central tools, the email address used to sign up for the beta, if not fully set up, will be completed by the user upon first access to the boards and Beta Central tools.

3. Question: To become a Beta user, does a user need to have a PLAYSTATION®Network account (email)? Master or Sub Account?

Answer: For downloadable PLAYSTATION®3 betas, a valid PLAYSTATION®Network master or sub account email address can be submitted, provided that account is for a user that is at least 18 years of age.

4. Question: Can a user sign up for a beta without a PLAYSTATION®Network account and be accepted?

Answer: A user can not be considered for a PLAYSTATION®3 downloadable beta unless they are at least 18 years of age and have a valid PLAYSTATION®Network account at the time of applying for the beta test.

5. Question: Can I change my email address for my PLAYSTATION®Network account after I applied to a beta?

Answer: A user should not change their PLAYSTATION®Network email address after applying for a Beta test. This email should not be changed until after the Beta test is complete. Changing the email address after applying for a beta may cause issues attempting to access the beta.

6. Question: If a user who is accepted to the Beta cannot download the Beta, and that error is due to a different email address being accepted than the PLAYSTATION®Network email address, will changing the email address in the PLAYSTATION®Network to the one accepted fix the problem?

Answer: Yes, provided that PLAYSTATION®Network email address was accepted to the beta and that email address is associated to the same user.

Only managed to get an analogue rip :/

Here it is, if anybody is interested

Just found out that the "theme tune" from most of the videos we've seen is called "Get It Together" by "The Go! Team" on the album "Thunder, Lightning, Strike"

couldn't register my EU PSP and PS3, however managed to skip them anyway.

That's because it's the American PS website.

You can register your PS3 on the EU one :)

    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
    • Interesting read. I knew the adware was quite controversial at the time, however never realised to the point The Guardian wrote an article about Patchou. I just said no and enjoyed his creation, I’d probably be a lot more wary of something like that today though.
