Guys, if its recalled it doesn't matter, they aren't allowed to sell it. Doesn't matter who you are buying it from and what the page says, it hasn't been updated yet obviously.

An announcement is coming later today from Sony.

Sad thing is Sony/MM can't just stand up to this and say "STFU, we didn't create the song, just used it."

Because all the tabloid news papers will churn the "LBP mocks Muslims" headlines and it will give bad PR for Sony/MM.

People who don't even know what LBP is will then race for the pitchforks and/or burn copies of the game...

ps. I think it's the track used on planet 2, which if so, the song is actually awesome (Y) lol

True.

I'm just going to be really annoyed if this delays the game, then the online servers don't go up soon.

Bleh, the Quran is just the bible that's been through babel-fish and everything was lost in translation (N)

Religion sucks so much ass.

LOL

Harsh, but funny.

Well I can go to my local Best Buy and purchase the rest of them. $100 US for anyone who wants one. LOL

LOL

I think the issue with the states is the release date is the 21st, so hundreds of thousands of copies will no doubt have been sent out to shops arounds the states.

The UK release date isn't till the 24th, so maybe shipments haven't really been sent out, therefore can be stopped in transit.

I think you can expect a patch pretty soon which will remove it. They can't exactly ask everyone to send it back, nobody would do it anyway.

Anyone's guess about the servers.

How can they patch a song that they didn't make? Add a "BLEEP" like the swear filter?

It's an actual artists song!

If they change it, I'll be annoyed, it's an awesome track!

UK copies will have already been sent by the end of this week or arriving next week. Like Monday or Tuesday.

I'm sure they can patch the game so it plays another instead of the Muslim one.

Really really p***ed off about this tbh.

LOL

Exactly, which is why if they are forced to make a patch for the US, why not the same patch for the EU???

I am just trying to think this out realistically, and although it was a 3 day difference, it is not that big of a difference between the release dates. So MILLIONS of copies have been shipped. So Sony, MM, whomever, is going to do the math, and realize a recall is not the way to go, and a digital patch is.

Probably just damage control PR.

This outbreak has happened like today, if they go ahead and sell "tainted" copies in the UK with the release date still a bit off, you can bet you'll get your complainers, patch or no patch incoming.

People will churn the "You found out a week before release, why did you start selling the bad copies?!"

As for the game DL, started playing it yet?

Yeah, had to basically do the story mode again, so I got to the moon and then backtracked to some of the stages I did not get everything, which I still need to do. But I did every stage without dying, was fairly easy, went back with the Star decoration, etc., so will just keep plugging away on the Story mode.

Seriously?

Some of those levels near the end with the electricity are a nightmare for me LOL.

Especially the one with the huge rotating wheel!

Hardcore platformer DL :p

To be fair I haven't started my "do every level without dying", but on my casual playthrough I died quite a bit in the later stages of the game.

The first Garden Level, not all of them. Read, I said I got to the Moon then backtracked LOL And I should have written it was INCREDIBLY easy LOL

Ooops

I read

had to basically do the story mode again

and jumped the gun thinking you had completed it and started again.

But I understand now.

Progress of the first levels doesn't carry over from the beta, so you need to do them again!

That song sounds like a load of **** anyway. The game will probably be better off without it.

Nah man the song is quality, and it fits in awesome with the Savannah levels

Yeah, which is why I am happy I did not decide to go crazy in the Beta!!

Argh the game is possibly delayed in Europe ,and maybe in the US also.

*Hugs his copy*

Awesome game and a fuss about nothing, I will start trying to Ace levels soon once i've gotten through it all. Still lots to do first though.

Confirmed: LittleBigPlanet delayed over Qur’an “expressions”, SCEE makes statement

SCEE has just confirmed that LittleBigPlanet has slipped because “the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an” in one of the licensed background tracks, but has not supplied a new release date.

The game was previously scheduled for an October 24 release.

VG247 has learned that the game is already at retail in both the UK and other European countries.

Heavy speculation has surrounded a slip this afternoon.

Sony just issued a statement on the matter:

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We’ll confirm the new launch date shortly.

It’s unclear at the moment if this means the game is to be completely recalled.

Bunch of bollocks.

(N)

Can understand why MM/Sony have to do this in todays age where if you so much as look at the Bible/Qur'an or whatever in a the wrong way you offend someone...

Not being disrespectful to peoples beliefs, but OMG at the over reactions.

It's a ****ing song, it's been out for ages, STFU.

Last time I checked there's a good load of music in Zavvi/wherever that degrades Christianity and puts Satanism on the pedestal. Don't like it, don't buy it.

Looks like its now a world wide recall.

We?ve just been informed by SCEE that the delay to release is effective worldwide."

Feel sorry for MM, what a way to smudge the release of a hugely anticipated title

I hope people don't tear them a new one over it, it's not their fault.

The song is legal and exists amongst the music world, but the PR that will be drawn to the game seeing as games are the anti-christ in today's world is too much to deal with.

It would be another Mass Effect outburst. Instead of Sexbox 360, you'd get AntiMuslimStation 3.

    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know The ONLY thing I need to know is the price, which I know will be way higher than I (and most people) are willing to pay for a phone... so basically nothing here I need to know. PS: Nice job getting that Apple reference to a non-existent and unrevealed product as "competition" in there. Cheque is in the mail.
    • Well I really think the repasting helped if your higher clocks have returned, maybe the next thing to look at is if there is a problem with your case airflow? I guess this because your 3080 has returned to optimal state, but is still staying too warm, which might suggest it was thermal throttling before you repasted, of which the only logical conclusion could be outside factors.
    • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, Z Fold Wide: Everything you need to know by Hamid Ganji Galaxy Z Fold 7 - Image via Samsung The next generation of Samsung foldables is set to be unveiled next month at the second Unpacked event of the year. Samsung’s 2026 foldables are not expected to offer significant upgrades over their predecessors, with the Korean firm instead focusing on design refinements and conventional upgrades such as faster processors and better cameras. However, Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil an all-new passport-style foldable this year to rival Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is expected to debut this September. Here’s a roundup of everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable devices ahead of their official debut. When can we expect Samsung’s new foldables? The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 series were unveiled in July, and Samsung is expected to maintain this timeframe in 2026. Based on previous reports from Korean sources, Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on July 22 in London, UK, to pull back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. The devices are also expected to hit the shelves a few weeks after launch. However, Samsung has yet to announce an official date. A new naming scheme? One of the most interesting changes we might see this year is a new naming scheme for Samsung’s latest foldables. SamMobile reported that since Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables this year, it has adopted a new naming strategy to simplify product identification for customers. Accordingly, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will reportedly be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and will serve as the direct successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The “Ultra” suffix suggests the phone could feature higher-end specifications, such as additional rear camera modules. Samsung’s new passport-style foldable is expected to carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 name without any suffix. This model is reportedly equipped with two rear cameras. No major changes are expected for the Flip model. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 anticipated specs Rumors over the past few months suggest Samsung is preparing several upgrades for its upcoming foldables, although the devices may continue to rely on larger batteries and faster charging speeds rather than dramatic design changes. The primary focus this year is expected to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its wide-screen design. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here are the anticipated specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra based on previous leaks: 6.5-inch outer display and 8-inch inner display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,600 nits peak brightness Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage 4.1mm thickness when unfolded and a weight of 210g 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 10MP or 12MP telephoto camera, 10MP cover camera, and 10MP selfie camera 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, the device is not expected to be a major departure from its predecessor, although it could become slightly slimmer. Expected specifications include: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 processor 12GB of RAM with 256GB and 512GB storage options 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner dispaly and 4.1-inch Super AMOLED outer dispaly 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging Android 17 and One UI 9 Samsung’s foldables are also expected to launch with Gemini Intelligence, Google’s AI suite for automating tasks in Android ecosystem. Moreover, given current memory and component costs, some Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8 variants could see a price hike. Galaxy Z Fold 8 adopts a wide-screen design The centerpiece of the upcoming Unpacked event could be the Galaxy Z Fold 8, previously rumored as the Galaxy Z Fold Wide. This model adopts a passport-style form factor and is expected to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone Fold. Galaxy Z Fold 8 official CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines Here’s what to expect: 7.6-inch primary OLED display and 5.4-inch cover display, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and 4:3 aspect ratio Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage options 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP selfie camera Android 17 and One UI 9 The three new foldable phones are unlikely to be the only devices unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The company is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the Galaxy Watch 9 series.
