timnicebutdim
I had to do a system restore using the system restore CD's that came with me computer. - Had to do this because Windows wouldn't go pass the boot screen (which i replaced with another one - couldn't even go to safe mode :( ) anyway - since doing this 'non destructive' restoration (keep all my files - yet installs a clean piece of Windows XP) ever since doing that - i'm not able to get any updates through the update site - so i'm back with non SP1 :( etc. etc. The only updates I can get is through CD's - Windows XP the Official Magazine ones..... any ideas - or do i have to re-install Windows XP AGAIN!?? Dazzla Veteran Posted March 8, 2003 Veteran Share Posted March 8, 2003 This happened to me yesterday, I'm not sure if it's the same reason. Check the date on your machine. If it's not correct, change it to today and try windows update again.
timnicebutdim
yup - the date is fine and working nicely. Probably tommorrow I'll re-install Windows XP (the destructive one - i'll back up all the things i need to keep on CD). Thanks for the advice though Dazzla :D
