Should I get a DS?

I've really been toying with the idea of getting a DS before I head to college. I'll be running track and cross country there, so pretty much every other week, we will be traveling 2-3 hours each way to get to whatever meet we will be competing at. I have a GBA (original), but the lack of backlight kind of turns me off.

Is it worth it?

Depends on what type of games you like. I loved Zelda, I loved the new Super Mario Brothers, and there are a few other good games out there. Give it a shot, if you don't like it, you can sell it easily.

Well there's lots of fun games on it. I really enjoy mine, but it's been a paper weight for quite a while.

I seem to be having more fun with my Wii than my 360, although with the lack of killer games (just mario, SSBB and mario kart) I'm not sure how long that will last

I have a Black/Blue DS and its awesome, i recommend Final Fantasy Tactics A2, Trauma Center, Pokemon (trust me on this), New SMB, and Animal Crossing. Obviously your preferences might differ between these but they are good games regardless. The Phoenix Wright games are pretty entertaining too, some of these may sound pretty dull but you will get sucked into them after playing.

Absolutely. I love it because it seems to be #1 in selection for RPGs as far as portables are concerned. I recommend Final Fantasy III DS, and the upcoming Final Fantasy IV DS. Chrono Trigger DS will also be coming eventually. New Super Mario is a nice mix of classic mario and new mario elements.
